Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [189]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time curled up reading in bed with or which book you wish you had time to read today!

Today I’m spending a very minuscule part of my Sunday in bed reading How to Win a Breakup by Farah Heron.

I’ve been meaning to read this author’s books for a while and I have two or three of her YA contemporary romances on my TBR. I started this quite a while back but since I wasn’t sure what to pick up next, I decided to go back to this and hopefully, I’ll finish it soon!

What are you currently reading?

My parents came back last weekend from Bali and it was nice to have the house feel more alive for the week. But they left again this morning because a family member (my great uncle) passed away. Indonesian families tend to be huge and we tend to call everyone by the same titles (uncle/aunt/grandpa/grandma) no matter how close or distant they are to us. This great uncle was pretty close to my parents and us kids though because he was one of the few who always made us feel welcome and comfortable whenever we visited “home” when we still lived overseas. Sadly, I wasn’t able to go home cos of Cookie—who’s still taking medicine to get his blood test results good before surgery, but also work is getting WILD again and I’m trying not to manage my anxiety! 2023 has really been something… 😮‍💨

On a lighter note, Tears of the Kingdom finally released on Friday and as I knew I would get sucked into this game and forget everything else, I finished some pressing reads before picking it up yesterday. I don’t even have words for how amazing this game is and how much I love it—the gameplay is WILD!!! I’ve died a bajillion times but it’s too brilliant!! Hands down, GOTY for me! 😂

On books: I finished two books this weekend but haven’t really been reading much and I think I’m going to be reading less in the coming week with TOTK out! I’m looking forward to starting my buddy read for The Burning God though! It’s gonna be intense, lol.

On blogging: I’ve been kinda lax. 🫣

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

remembering my dreams – griff

I really hope you’re all doing okay and treating yourself with care. Let’s have a great week ahead! 💜

  1. I’m sorry for your family’s loss! And I hope Cookie’s surgery goes well!

I’m not a video game player, but my husband is thrilled that TOTK is out now. I just sit next to him on the couch and read while he plays and sometimes I’ll take a peek at what’s going on haha.

  2. I’m so sorry to hear about your great uncle. We are the same here about calling everyone uncle, aunty, etc…I even pause when a young barista calls me aunty lol. Dini my son got TOTK – well I bought it for him at Target and it came with this cute fanny pouch that I’m stealing lol. He doesn’t need it! And the amount of times my son has died playing the game cracks me up. By yesterday he said he died 21 times and I said…well if I even attempted to play it, I’d have died 42 times 😆 But I like to watch him play because it really is a beautiful game and we laugh so much when he has to build something like a raft to get across the water. I hope you have a good week!

  3. Sorry to hear about your uncle ((HUGS)), and also that you were unable to travel for his funeral. Hope all goes well with the pup *GOOD VIBES* I have been curious about Heron’s YA books, so I will keep a look out for your thoughts.

  4. I’m sorry to hear about your uncle. Sending positive thoughts your way for you dog. My daughter is super excited to play that Zelda game. My mom got it for her for her birthday, but it went their place instead of mine so she has to wait until we see them. haha
