I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed finishing Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy.

I think I’ve got about 15% left in the book but I’ve been completely sucked in and I even got teary-eyed a few times. It’s definitely an incredibly slow burn, but it is also so highly atmospheric and beautifully sad. I love how mother nature and everything on this island feels so much like a character of its own. It’s not gonna be for everyone—especially if you don’t like slow, drip-fed, atmospheric mysteries (with a lot of miscommunication, lol) but I totally get the hype!

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed with Paladin’s Strength by T. Kingfisher. After finishing (and loving) the first book, Leslie and I decided to continue our buddy read of this series. This might surpass the first as my favourite. Istvhan and Clara have such great chemistry, and the tension between them is *chefs kiss*! The pining is truly superior. 😍

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night trying to focus on A Rather Vengeful Accord by Danielle Knight. This is my current Illumicrate buddy read with Chris and I’m ngl, there’s something about this book that seems to constantly send me to sleep whenever I read it. 😂 There’s also something about the writing that’s making it tough for me to actually retain what I’m reading—I don’t know what it is, but I hope I gel better with it soon!

My main thought right now is that I really wish the world-building was better. 👀

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday in bed with Lies We Sing to the Sea. I’m about 44% through and ngl, I’m not feeling a whole lot of ways about the characters or plot. 😅 I guess on the plus side is that the chapters are short, so we’re moving at a decent clip. The bad thing is though that despite being this far into the book, nothing of significance has really happened… I hope that changes soon!

I hope to be spending some part of my Sunday in bed finishing Our Rogue Fates. I don’t know why I slowed down on reading this—well, I guess my mood is a big factor in that, but I need to get it read before my tour stop this week, so that’s gonna be my main focus.

I’ll spend the rest of my Sunday in bed reading Voidwalker by S. A. MacLean. This is a buddy read with Chris and it’s a first-time read for me and a re-read for him. Illumicrate is coming out with an SE for the sequel soon, so I wanted to read the first before deciding whether to get the second. I’m about world-building still trips me up at times and I have some mixed thoughts about the FMC, but overall, I’m really enjoying it. Things went sideways very quickly and have continued to get worse for our MCs, so I’m keen to see where it goes! 😂

I’ve spent much of my Sunday in bed reading an ARC of The Wicked Sea by Jordan Stephanie Gray. It’s been a while since I’ve willingly picked up an adult romantasy because a lot of them feel very copy-paste these days. While I can’t say that this anything new or different—and I was honestly a bit worried after reading the prologue—I’ve enjoyed it more as I’ve read on. The character dynamic really gives Quicksilver and Phantasma, while the plot tries to fit in a lot more which does and doesn’t work. Sometimes the decisions or (lack of) logic makes me a bit mad, but I’m surprisingly enjoying it overall? 🤣

I’ve got two books on at the minute and both are buddy reads but I think I’ll spend the rest of my Sunday (after gaming!) in bed reading A Drop of Corruption, which is my buddy read with Charlotte and she is way ahead of me! It’s getting even more intriguing now though and I’m curious to see what happens next. I love these characters, especially Din and Ana—the banter is fantastic and often has me cackling out loud! 🤭

It’s Sunday evening already and I haven’t had the time to sit down with a book yet today and I’m not sure if I will round off my evening with one either! If I do, I’ll probably pick up A Drop of Corruption just as I’m getting into bed, as Charlotte and I are continuing our buddy read of the series. 😊 I’m so excited to dive back in!
