Evening, fellow book lovers! Somehow April has come and gone and even now, we’re starting our second week of May (hello?)! As you know, I don’t participate in many readathons but The Magical Readathon is one that I happily and very excitedly participate in every year.
As always, if you have no idea what I’m talking about, our lovely host G @Book Roast created this Beginners Guide to the Magical Readathon, just in case you’re interested in starting your own journey to Orilium!
April marked the first semester back at school and now that the month is over, it’s time to take a look at how I did for ✨ The Magical Readathon: Orilium Spring Equinox 2023! ✨ How well did the first semester of my second year at Orilium go? Read on to find out!
Check out how I did in my first year at Orilium in 2022!

Orilium Spring Equinox Class 2023 Completed Reads
To quickly recap: Meeska is continuing their pursuit of the Illusionist Rogue calling and the three classes for the spring semester are: Art of Illusion, Psionics & Divination, and Shapeshifting.
There was a bit of temptation to change their calling and to attempt a more challenging spring semester but considering how 2023 has gone so far, we didn’t want to be too ambitious and that was definitely the right move, lol! 😂
With this lighter load, Meeska was able to pass all classes and even start their Alchemy Quest journey helping Professor Aubrin Bluewing and adding three more books to the semester wrap-up.

ART OF ILLUSION: Focus: Self Disguise — Match clothes colour to cover colour

Royal Rebel by Heather Frost
I wear a lot of black on the daily so it’s no surprise that this was probably the easiest prompt for me to fulfill. 😂 Luckily, I also really loved this book.
PSIONICS & DIVINATION: Cloud Study 101 — Clouds on the cover or in the title

Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee
I really wasn’t sure what I was going to read to fulfil this prompt but was so glad I picked this! I’m a huge fan of Fonda Lee and her incredible world-building and character development. This novella was no different. 🦅
SHAPESHIFTING: Form: Wolf — Wolf on the cover, title, author’s name

Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs
I ended up reading something completely different and wasn’t even on my radar when I made my original possibility pile. While I didn’t end up loving it the way I thought I would, it did get me more interested in this world the author is very famous for!
⚗️ Alchemy Quest ⚗️
As mentioned, Meeska also started the Alchemy Quest. Since the prompts are revealed based on the adventurer’s choices, I won’t be mentioning the specific prompts here but I will be listing the three books read for it! With these, Meeska earned an additional 30pts.

And we’re done with the first semester of the second year! I’m already so looking forward to coming back for the Autumn Equinox! Did you participate in the Magical Readathon? How’d you do this semester? Are you also doing the Alchemy Quest?

Good luck on your readathon!

I did not complete my semester, yet! But to be fair I went with a many prompt calling and taking the long way on the alchemy quest haha.

Fair enough! I wanted to change my calling to something more challenging but I’m so glad that I didn’t because I wouldn’t have completed it otherwise 😂 At least you tried your best though!

Great job!! I barely finished my semester. I need to change my calling or whatever bc 7 books are rough. I think August it’s like 9-12 or something crazy?? I’m going to have to read a lot of kid books bc Finn will only be 2 months old and there’s no way. haha. I didn’t even open the quests this time because I just didn’t have the time. LOL

Haha, even with a calling that has fewer books I almost didn’t finish my semester so I’m glad that I stuck to this one 😂 9-12 is wild and especially with a new bebe, that’ll be quite a lot! The good thing with the quest is that it’s pretty lowkey/easy and you can do it anytime! I quite enjoy the storyline 🙂

Yeahhhh, I’m just going to use kid books for the August one because there is absolutely no way! Haha, I’ll be shocked if I can get one full length novel read over the summer. haha

Thanks, Ali! Great job to you as well! The quest is pretty lowkey and fun—I like that we can do it at any time and we can basically choose our own adventure!
