We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time curled up reading in bed with or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be wrapping up my Sunday in bed with A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske. I’m reading this with Leslie and I’m a little bit further ahead but I know I’m going to have less time to read once the workweek starts! For some reason, this had a bit of a rough start and I couldn’t seem to grasp what was happening. I’m now at 33% though and really enjoying it! 🥰
📖 SYNOPSIS
Set in an alternative Edwardian England, this is a comedy of manners, manor houses, and hedge mazes: including a magic-infused murder mystery and a delightful queer romance.
For fans of Georgette Heyer or Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton, who’d like to welcome magic into their lives…
Young baronet Robin Blyth thought he was taking up a minor governmental post. However, he’s actually been appointed parliamentary liaison to a secret magical society. If it weren’t for this administrative error, he’d never have discovered the incredible magic underlying his world.
Cursed by mysterious attackers and plagued by visions, Robin becomes determined to drag answers from his missing predecessor – but he’ll need the help of Edwin Courcey, his hostile magical-society counterpart. Unwillingly thrown together, Robin and Edwin will discover a plot that threatens every magician in the British Isles.

It was a short work week for me as I took two days off and Wednesday was a public holiday. My brain wasn’t on board and kept thinking Thursday (when I went to work) was Monday though and Friday was very confusing! 😂 My sister left for Japan early this week and my parents accompanied her to have a 3-week holiday. I wish I could’ve joined them but alas, I don’t have many leave days and anyway, I’m planning to visit next year. It’s so quiet in the house with just me here and I miss my sister already!
Other than that, I got some exciting book mail yesterday! Unboxed photos to come as I haven’t opened the box yet but for now, here’s a shot of me being excited to have it in hand, lol. I was debating whether to restart two games this weekend and instead of deciding on one, I decided to delete all my saved data for ACNH and one of my profile saves for Zelda BOTW. I really love both games but especially the latter!

On books: I’ve gotten back to reading a decent amount over the last week! It’s been nice to get through a couple romances and fun to discover more indie authors thanks to KU. I’ve also now caught up on all my blog tour ARCs but I just need to focus on the non-tour ARCs because the list is… Long. 🤡
On blogging: I’ve caught up on a lot of comments and a bit more blog hopping since last weekend which I’m really happy about! It’s funny how catching up on this stuff makes me feel so calm and productive! Let’s hope I can keep it up.

Oh, is that a publisher box? I have only gotten two in my lifetime, but they are usually so fun. Can wait to see the pictures. Short week’s are confusing. I even feel out of sort after my work from home day. Glad your current read picked up for you. I always tell you that you are better than me, sticking it out. At least you were rewarded.

Sorry you’re already missing your sister. At least you have that trip to visit her to look forward to!

I’m glad to hear you are getting back into reading and blog hopping. I am always behind, probably because I follow so many blogs. It will be hard without your sister, but having a trip booked will give you something to look forward to. It is always wonderful and a relief when a story picks up. Have a good week, Dini.
