We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be spending my Sunday night in bed starting The Drowned Woods by Emily Lloyd-Jones. I’ve read a book by this author before and absolutely loved it so I’m looking forward to picking this up for my stop on the blog tour next weekend!
What are you currently reading?

I’m continuing the countdown and it’s now officially three more weeks until I leave for Indonesia again. How time flies… I really can’t believe that it’s already mid-August somehow when I swear it was just the beginning of August yesterday? 🤷🏻♀️ The energy this week felt a little frantic and lazy at the same time. Not sure how that works but there were days when we were so busy and then other days when we didn’t even have the energy to do anything.
On Friday we left work early to go to a friend’s house and we ended up day drinking through to near midnight and well, I really felt my age by the end of it… I don’t even know how I used to do things like this so often in my early/mid-20s cos by the time I hate my late 20s my body was not having any of it! 😂 Still, we had a fantastic time with lots of laughs and reminiscing about our uni days (again) which made the slightly rundown feeling the next day worth it!

You might notice that I’ve changed my blog a little bit this week. I did post an announcement on Twitter saying that my blog might look a hot mess at the moment because I finally upgraded and got my own domain (I’m a dot com but still not self-hosted because I’m too lazy, lol) and I’m updating my blog graphics. It’s a lot of work but I’m loving this new look. It’s still fun and colourful but it’s cleaner and a little less chaotic than before 😂 so I’m quite happy with it! Sadly though I haven’t been engaging as much this week but I’m going to try to get back to comments and all today.
ICYMI, here’s what I posted on the blog this week:
- Book Review: Malice by Heather Walter
- First Lines Friday: 12 August 2022
- ARC Review: Royally Not Ready by Meghan Quinn
- #WWWWednesday: 10 August 2022
- #TopTenTuesday: Last 10 Reads That Made Me LOL
- Pub Day Spotlight: Not Betting on Forever by Natasha Moore

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you have a great week ahead! Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

Happy Sunday, Dini. It sounds like August is rushing by all of us, but that you have some more memories of good times to take with you to Indonesia. I like the look of your blog. I have thought about switching to my own domain, but there is always some reason why I don’t. I will watch for your review of Drowned Woods as I also have it to read. Have a great week.

Thanks, Carla! I’ve been thinking of changing to my own domain for over a year now and I’m glad that I finally did it—I don’t know why I hesitated for so long but I totally understand why people hesitate too. It’s a big move! 😅 August is indeed rushing by all of us but I guess having some kind of normalcy and routine that make the days go faster is better than stress and unpredictability? I hope you have a great week, too!

The site looks great. I hope all the changes go well. I am not as ambitious as you and will probably never update all my old pages — there’s so many! I keep considering a move to free WP too since I abandoned the plugin that motivated me to self-host (yeah, I have issues). No idea how to do it, but considering. Have a great week!

Thanks, Sam! It’s definitely an ambitious undertaking but I get annoyed looking at earlier posts and seeing them so poorly formatted 😂 But I think I’ll get to it gradually—it’s not like I’m employed or anything so I might as well do that in between the job hunt! I thought about self-hosting cos of plug-in abilities but I’m just too lazy and it seems too overwhelming and confusing so I’m gonna park that idea for now… 🙈 Your site is awesome though and I love how it looks! I hope you have a great week ahead!

what a lovely wrap-up, I haven’t read any of emily’s books yet but her newest one looks so interesting, hoping to read that during the fall! ❤

Thank you! I’m really enjoying Emily’s book right now. She has a way of writing that’s simple but effective in bringing forth like the magical/mythical vibes and I really like her characters! I hope you enjoy the book if you do pick it up 🙂 Have a great week ahead!

Haha, me too, Julie! Self-hosted looks like it provides so much more freedom to us but at the same time I’m terrified to make the move and it just plain ‘ol confuses me, ngl 😂 Maybe one day we’ll figure it out haha
