Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [220]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be spending my Sunday night reading what I’m ashamed to admit is a very overdue ARC. We’re working through the list (there’s a list!) slowly… I’m about 57% through Down Comes the Night. Saft has been on my radar for a while but this is my first book by her and for the most part, I’m enjoying it! 😊

What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

This week was all sunshine and humidity and as wonderful as that has been, I kind of miss the rain. I hope that we get more of it next week because we got nowhere near enough rain this “rainy season”! Other than that, even though I probably shouldn’t have because I said I would try to be better at saving money this year, I did treat myself to a couple of books. 🤭 I didn’t go too wild and stuck to two books, so yay, me? Also, it’s the end of January? While at times this month has felt like it’s lasted forever, I’m also surprised that it’s already over. Yes, this happens all the time!

I don’t know why and I swear I don’t think it was intentional but January seems to be my sad reads era because I’ve been reading a lot of books that have heavy themes like loss, grief, and loneliness. I’ve been reading my share of backlist titles and it’s making me realise that the younger me was quite the melancholy baby! 😂 I also churned out a few reviews on my blog this week, and I mean, that is what this blog is for, but I hope there’ll be a bit more variety next week (can’t promise anything though, lol)!

ICYMI here’s what I posted this week:

I really hope you’re all doing okay and treating yourself with care. Let’s have a great week ahead! 💜

  1. We must be getting all your rain, but I am glad it’s not snow. I agree, this month went very fast considering I did nothing. I have a different mindset, it’s not an “overdue ARC”, it’s what I like to call a backlist book, and what an accomplishment reading your backlist, right?

    • I think you’re right, Sam! Everyone in the comments are mentioning how much rain they’re getting… Hopefully, it’ll come round back this way soon! 😂 And I love that mindset. I’ll call it a backlist ARC from now on, haha. I hope you have a great week ahead!

  2. It’s been so rainy the past week! Although, I’ll take that over the negative degree weather. haha. Yay, for catching up on ARC’s! Go, you! I feel like January feels so long but somehow it’s over fast. I just can’t wait to get to Spring. I’m over the cold and gloomy weather! I hope you have a great week ahead! ❤

    • Would happily take some rain over here if you want to pass it along my way 😂 It’s SO hot! I also think January always feels so long but somehow not at the same time. It’s a weird time conundrum thing, lol. I hope the cold and gloomy weather dissipates soon! Have a great week too, Leslie 💜

  3. We’ve had a lot of precipitation the past 2-3 weeks here in the eastern US. I took a video of me squishing around in my back yard which is like a waterlogged sponge right now. 😂 Anyway, I’m currently reading a nonfiction book about ballet called DON’T THINK, DEAR: ON LOVING AND LEAVING BALLEY by Alice Robb.

    • Haha, so everyone’s been telling me! I’m proper jelly about it. I would happily take rain over here, lol! I don’t read a lot of NF but I just looked up the synopsis for what you’re currently reading and it sounds great! I hope you’re enjoying it and have a great week ahead 🙂

    • If I can be honest, I think the pacing in this one was a bit all over the place. 😂 It started off medium paced, became slow paced and then so fast paced you blinked and the book was over. I ended up enjoying it well enough though and I’m keen to check out more of her books soon!

  4. It’s been raining like crazy here. It’s also 60 degrees, which is way high for this time of year. I think that’s great you got yourself a couple of books. I just recently bought myself the 10th anniversary edition of Kim Holden’s Bright Side.

    • You told me to read that book last year and I *still* haven’t got around to it. I need to check whether I bought the book or if I got it from KU (and if it’s the latter, I hope it’s still there)! I hope you’re having a great week so far!
