Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

Since last week, I’ve managed to finish four books. I had another 5-star read this week and I already have a feeling this one’s making it into my top list at the end of the year! 😍

Forged by Magic (Falling for Fables #1) by Jenna Wolfhart ★★★½
It took me a minute to get into this story but once I was hooked, I didn’t want to put it down! This was action-packed and full of magical adventure and a somewhat literal steamy romance. 🤭 It got a bit bonkers in the last third but still a fun read and I can’t wait for the next one!

The Perfect Play (Play by Play #1) by Jaci Burton ★★★★☆
I picked this up after seeing the cover discourse on the bird app and I’m so glad I did! This was erotic, mature, and a very fun one-night-turns-to-much-more sports romance. It didn’t bring anything new but Mick and Tara were such a great couple and so easy to root for!

Divine Rivals (Letters of Enchantment #1) by Rebecca Ross ★★★★★
Inject Ross’ writing in to my veins because I could drown in the magic of it. I read this with Leslie and we both sped through it! The characters, the world building, the magic, the romance—all of it had my heart racing and breaking and loving every moment of this. 10/10 would recommend!

Destiny’s Surrender (Destiny #2) by Beverly Jenkins ★★★★☆
Insomnia got me last night and I read this in one sitting. Drew pissed me off at the start but it was so fun coming back to Destiny Ranch and all these characters! Our MCs had such raw chemistry it set my Kindle alight! This accidental pregnancy historical romance between Billie and Drew was heartwarming, tender, sensual and hopeful. I loved it!

Ruthless Vows ⇢ 65%

At this point I’m most certainly not okay, thanks for asking. My heart is in my throat, my chest is tight with tension, I have all the bad feelings and I want these little nuggets to be OK so badly. I hope Ross chooses peace and happiness for us! 🥺

I’m hoping to tackle one more backlist ARC this month and then it’s wherever my mood takes me!

    • I was so worried that I wouldn’t enjoy Ruthless Vows especially since you said that you didn’t enjoy it as much and I saw others that said they didn’t like it either. I’m happy to say that I enjoyed it a lot, although I can see why people would struggle with it. I’m glad I’ve finally read this duology though 😍

  6. I recognized that Burton cover immediately. What a blast from the past. I read every book in that series. I skipped around in the series, and I felt as the series grew, the stories relied less on sex, but don’t worry, there was still plenty of that.

    • Haha, that’s good. This one started off almost immediately with the sex and it did play a big part of their relationship journey but I still liked the other aspects of it with their careers and families! I’m so glad this cover discourse came up on the bird app cos otherwise I’d never have known about Burton’s books 😂 I’m keen to continue the series too!

    • You won’t be the first nor last book blogger to say that sentence 😂 I’ve got plenty of those in my shelf as well… Trying to tackle at least one more very overdue backlist ARC before January ends. I hope you’re enjoying it though!

  10. I am 42nd in line to get Ruthless Vows through our library. About 7 weeks out. I’m gonna be a nervous wreck until then. Fingers crossed that it ends happily for them. But, gosh, the book is everywhere and I’m scared I’m gonna accidentally get ahold of a spoiler.

    • I’m so glad we read this duology together and I can’t wait to do more! 😍 And hahaha, yeah, now I fear that everyone will go in with even higher expectations because of how much we’ve gone on about it. I hope it lives up to expectations for everyone who reads it after seeing our gushing reviews haha 😂

      • I know, I thought of that when everyone was commenting on our comments. haha. I hope they are not let down! It’s one of the nerve -wracking things about blogging! I’m not sure others will feel the same!
