Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday in bed with The Inadequate Heir by Danielle L. Jensen. It’s the third book in The Bridge Kingdom series but it’s about a new couple and I’ve been excited to read about them ever since they were introduced in the second book. I’m buddy reading this with Leslie and Julie and I can’t wait to chat to them about it!

What are you currently reading?

It’s been a weird but fairly busy work week and even though I’m on somewhat of a regular schedule, it’s still so easy to forget the days because of how quickly time is moving! It’s already July and in about three days I’ll have been in India for a month already?! Wild. <–I know I’ve probably already said all that before but my mind still boggles. Reading keeps taking a backseat now that I’m here since my friend is very much a TV watcher, so I’ve also been watching loads. Here’s what we’ve been watching:

  • MasterChef Australia: I haven’t watched it since season 1 but I’m loving these new-to-me judges.
  • Stranger Things (S4, Pt2): We binged it in one sitting (duh) and WOW, my emotions! I really hope we don’t have to wait for yonks for the final season. 🙈
  • Loot: It’s a bit of a silly show but we’re enjoying it!
  • Tehran: I think this is an Apple TV show and we just started last night (first 3 eps) and it’s intense AF but we’re liking it!

I had grand reading plans this week but things didn’t go according to plan (again) and I ended up only finishing one book since the mid-week check-in. I’m in a bit of a weird mood as well so it hasn’t been easy figuring out what I want to read right now too! Thankfully, I’ve got buddy reads to keep me on some kind of track and motivated!

ICYMI, here’s what I posted on the blog this week:

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you have a great week ahead! Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

  1. Wasn’t Stranger Things 4 Pt 2 amazing?! 😭 I hope we get Season 5 next year . My emotions were all over the place but I was watching on my ipad and trying to keep my son from seeing anything (because Vecna would give him nightmares lol).

    • Yes! I haven’t seen the US version but the Aus one was always the one that I’ve watched (cos the first season came out while I was living in Aus too). It’s so good! I love cooking shows lol 😍

    • Yes! All of it happens in parallel with the first two Bridge Kingdom books and it’s great to see what else was happening “behind the scenes” In the other countries while all of that was going on in those books 😂 I hope you love it!

  2. We’re still on Stranger Things Season 2 at my house. I have to wait for my daughter to be interested in it again because I am not watching it alone and my husband isn’t interested. I hope Season 5 comes soon for you.

    • I hadn’t watched the show until I got here and then my friend made me binge-watch the first four seasons (minus the last two episodes) in like a week 😂 No regrets because what a wild show but definitely not one I’d sit and watch alone so I hope that your daughter gets interested in it again (soon)!

  3. I think this was my favorite season of Stranger Things. It was fantastic! And I hope we don’t have to wait too long for the next season too. So far I’m really enjoying The Inadequate Heir. I can’t wait to chat with you and Leslie more about it! 🙂

    • Haha, that’s OK. I ended up reading zero last night as well so I’m still at the same %. You’re probs gonna catch up real quick once you start reading! Like you said, it’s wild how invested we’ve become in these characters and some so quickly too. I’m scared for the final season but also CAN’T WAIT!!! 😱

      • Man… I’m not sure why I’m not so invested in this book?? Like the previous two were perfect! Lol it’s not bad but I haven’t hit a “I can’t stop” moment.

  5. I’m not a TV watcher so I always feel completely clueless when everyone talks about the shows they’re bingeing. Like, I’m vaguely aware of what Stranger Things is, but I’m still lost when everyone raves about it. LOL Glad the latest Bridge Kingdom book is going so well! It’s always exciting when one of my favorite couples finally gets their book. 🙂

    • Haha, before I came to India and stayed with my friend I barely watched TV at all. Its been nice to watch things but ngl, I miss my reading time so much 😂 I’ve been reading this Bridge Kingdom book so slowly but I am enjoying them as a couple. I love Keris 😍
