Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [334]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed reading The Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne. This is the third and final book of the trilogy, and Becky and I are eating it up. It’s been intense right from the go in this final book, and it’s been really fun discussing theories and feelings as we read. We have a lot of feelings about certain characters! 😂 This truly an epic series.

What book do you have in bed with you this Sunday?

Other than a few work meetings dotted here and there, it’s been a fairly quiet-ish week. As I wound up going to the office for a couple of hours on Friday, my colleague and I decided to head to the mall next door to walk around and have lunch. I wound up splurging on goods — books and clothes — and while my bank might regret it, I don’t think I do because I love what I bought. 😂 With the re-opening of the largest Adidas store in Indonesia, they brought out the Adidas x Care Bears collab, and seeing as I love the Care Bears, my colleague egged me into buying two shirts and a cardi (admittedly, she didn’t have to try very hard 🙃). I think my favourite item was the cropped cardi cos not only is it super soft but the hood has bear ears! 😍 It was game over for me after seeing that, lol. 🤭 I also got a couple of new books that I had been looking for: Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, There Are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak, and So Late in the Day by Claire Keegan. Overall, I’m quite chuffed with my haul!

On a whim late Saturday night, I decided to make minor changes to my blog and wound up a fair bit of time playing around with heading designs using elements that I already had. I wound up with the most simple one in the end and combined with the new backdrop, I’m quite happy with how it looks. I think the elements mesh well together, so hopefully I will not change my mind (again) anytime soon, lol.

ICYMI, here’s what I posted this week:

nothing’s gonna hurt you baby – cigarettes after sex

I hope everyone’s doing well and treating themselves with care. Have a great week ahead, friends! 💜

  1. First thing I noticed was the site refresh. LOVE IT! My daughter and I were just talking about the collaboration (I was Care Bears freak in my youth. I had them all, the house, the cloud car – all of it!). After reading Foster and Small Things Like These, I was surprised by how dark the stories in So Late in the Day were.

    • Thanks, Sam! I was a huge Care Bears fan from when I was a kid too (although I never had the cloud car—my inner child is so jelly, lol) and I love that there are more collabs and Care Bears merch these days! 🥹 I really want to read Foster and Small Things Like These, but I can’t find the physical books here and the digital copies are so expensive. This’ll be my first Keegan so I’m excited to experience it as all I’ve heard are words of praise for her writing.

    • Aw, thank you so much! I appreciate it and am quite happy with it now. 😊 Love-a-lot is so adorable! I’m partial to the newer Share Bear, but for the OG Care Bears I loved Bedtime Bear. 🥹 I think my entire countenance is much more Grumpy Bear though, which is so fitting since this collab was all Grumpy Bear. 😂 Love that you bought your daughter her own though. The Care Bears are awesome! 💜
