We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

Since I finished my last read on Friday evening, I haven’t really been reading. That said, I’d love to spend the rest of my Sunday night in bed reading The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion: Vol 2. I loved the first one (check out my gushy review if you want to know more) and I’m excited to see where things go for Emma. I’m especially curious about her new neighbour… 👀
What book do you have in bed with you this Sunday?

So… I did a thing… It probably wasn’t my best idea (maybe?) but after seeing an update about exciting things coming in October, I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a Nintendo Switch 2. 😁 As a Switch girlie, I’ve been wanting to get one since its release, but the price has always put me off. That said, I knew that the price would increase from this month so when there was a sale on 9.9, I went ahead and bought it with the Pokopia game as well. And that’s what I’ve been up to since Saturday morning! I really thought to myself that I wouldn’t enjoy Pokopia and then well, I woke up this morning and logged on and the next thing I know it’s already 5pm and I actually have some work to do for an early morning meetings tomorrow. 😅 Definitely no regrets here—I’m so happy I finally have it, and I’ve already made it look very pretty with this cute strawberry protective case (terrible lighting in these photos, so sorry). 💜

Was all of this probably compensation for how messy life has been feeling in the past week? Yes, probably. The older I get the harder it seems to be for me to get back to regular programming when it’s disrupted by anything. Recent events have been a lot! Not to mention we’ve had a massive reminder that Indonesia is on the ring of fire as we’ve had a massive volcanic eruption (Mount Anak Krakatau) followed by at least eight others having small-medium eruptions across the archipelago. As you can imagine, the air quality that’s already shite here just got even worse over the last week with the volcanic ash spreading affecting Jakarta and at one points closing several airports for days. 2026—what a time! 😅

Oh wow. That sounds scary, Dini. I hope you and your family are staying safe. And I love that Raye song! I went to see Bruno Mars last week, and she opened for him. She was amazing!

It was pretty scary the day after—felt slightly apocalyptic (haha, so dramatic) but it was fine in the end 🙂 We’re all okay, thanks Julie 💜 OMG, more than a little jelly that you got to see RAYE when you saw Bruno Mars! That’s amazing. I’ve seen her live recordings and stuff but seeing her live in person must’ve been incredible! That’s beyond cool 😍

Have a ton of fun with your Switch! I hope the volcanic activity has died down. That sounds pretty terrifying.

Yes, it was definitely scary the day after but thankfully, we are all fine from that natural disaster 🙂

I hope things do settle down and feel a bit more normal for you — totally relate to having difficulty with that when stuff’s going on, and more and more as time goes by.

I hope your air quality improves! Sounds like you found a great distraction with your new Switch — enjoy! I keep hearing how great the Emma Lion books are!

It has slowly, definitely don’t have it as bad in the big city (or much worse than usual really) compared to those closer to the volcano and other areas affected by other disasters in Indonesia, but yeah, staying at home has been a big help! The new Switch is amazing but I’m now fully addicted to Pokopia and haven’t picked up a book in… A hot minute 🤭

The volcano news was so worrying, especially because so many people got affected and yet we’ve heard crickets from the govt 😭
