I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday in bed reading Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison. I’ve had this on my TBR for almost a year now and I thought I’d read it sooner in 2022 but then I saw it was a holiday(ish?) romance so I saved it for now. I have to admit it’s a little slow. I don’t know how I feel about Stella + I wish that it was dual POV cos I wanna know what Luka’s thinking!
📖 SYNOPSIS
Where the lovelight gleams…
A pasture of dead trees. A hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons. And shipments that have mysteriously gone missing. Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams.
In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, she enters a contest with instafamous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, she might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on the application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only… there is no boyfriend.
Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just came home for some hot chocolate, and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process.
What are you currently reading?
This week was ridiculously busy at work, like, wow. I felt like I had no time to breathe let alone do much of anything else so I’m glad it’s over. The office is going to be super quiet next week and I’ll also be flying to Bali on Thursday to WFH until the new year. It’s also been a week of total indulgence as I let myself go and basically drank and ate whatever I wanted. Even today, I bought myself a venti Peppermint Mocha Frappucino and it was such a yummy festive drink! 😂 Ngl, I’m lowkey tempted to get another one before the year is out.
My favourite track of the week (put on my radar by Lindsey!) took me on a trip down memory lane and I ended up listening to a whole bunch of emo-pop punk rock tunes that threw me back to my uni days and I absolutely loved it! 😍 I was 100% that emo kid.
As it was such a busy week, not much reading or interaction occurred on the blogosphere. I still managed to churn out my posts although this week was definitely not my best in terms of quality. I’m looking to catch up on everything in the coming week, so I’m sorry I haven’t yet got back to your comments or engaged with your posts!

That’s wonderful that you can WFH until the new year. Safe travels! I liked Lovelight so much. I listened to it. Maybe that made a difference? I am listening to book 3 right now because I didn’t check to see what number it was in the series. I will circle back to two. I hope it picks up for you, and yeah, I would have liked to have had more time in Luka’s head, but he did express himself better than Stella.

Ooh, maybe listening to it would’ve made a difference. I still haven’t listened to any audiobook romances save for Cara Bastone’s one 😂 I’m at 62% and enjoying it much more now! Stella is still not my favourite but much better than at the start, lol. I’m super looking forward to Beckett’s book though cos I LOVE him already! Him and those kittens — swoon! 😍

I’m supposed to be reading Lovelight Farms for a book club but I heard that it was slow. Since I can’t handle slow books- I’m probably just going to let it pass me by and make apologies 😉. Hope you have a great week!!!

It does start off a little slow and tbh I wasn’t too keen on our FMC at the beginning! BUT I’m at 62% now and enjoying it much more. I’m really looking forward to the next one cos I’m already halfway in love with the male lead of the second book 😍 I hope you have a great week as well, Tessa!

Oh, I keep seeing Lovelight Farms everywhere recently! I hope you enjoy it, despite it being a bit slow 🥰 I’m still debating if I should pick it up as well!

It’s definitely a great holiday read because our FMC *loves* Christmas, I mean, she owns a Christmas Tree farm, so… Lol! But it’s cute. I’m at 62% now and really enjoying it a lot more! I hope you enjoy it if/when you pick it up 🙂

I’m at 62% and enjoying it more than I did at the start. I’m in LOVE with Beckett and them kittens though 🥹 I think it just might start a binge, lol

Thanks, lovely! 💜 I’m trying to drink a few fewer espressos per day… 😂 I HAVE PROBLEMS, LOL. But yeah, this peppermint drink was really good! And the book is slowly getting better but definitely not a fave. I think I definitely built it up a bit in my head… Whelp!

Starting this weekend I know I’ll be totally overindulging until we get past new years. All of the holiday food here is just too tempting! I was slow to warm up to Lovelight Farms, but I ended up enjoying it in the end. I can’t say I loved it like a lot of others do, though. Hope it improves for you.

Yep, it’s definitely the season to be overindulging right now—at least it is for me and I’ve been on a roll, haha! It took me a little bit to warm up to Lovelight Farms too but I’m enjoying it more now towards the end. I’m looking forward to reading Beckett’s story though! 😍
