Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

Since last week, I managed to finish four books.

(ARC) Reader, I Murdered Him by Betsy Cornwell โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…ยฝ
I had no idea this was linked to Jane Eyre in any way but it’s about one of the OG characters in that story. This was a darkly entertaining, slightly macabre coming-of-age story that had murder, vengeance, and a queer romance to boot. I didn’t love it as much as I hoped to but it was entertaining! (KU) Twisted Hearts Series (1-3) by Katee Robert โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…ยฝ (overall)
1โ€”Theirs for the Night (3.5โ˜…), 2โ€”Forever Theirs (3โ˜…), 3โ€”Theirs Ever After (3โ˜…)
Katee Robert writes really good erotica. This was a steamy good time and great for those who enjoy poly (triad) relationships with characters with a great dynamic together, who have sizzling chemistry, and meltingly hot sex scenes. This also had the secret royal and in-love-with-the-bodyguard/BFF tropes, too! There were moments when all three acted out of character and made silly decisions; such as when the M’s kept their plans from the F, whose life was literally being threatened because of her connection to them, to “protect her” (please, sir ๐Ÿ™„) despite promising honesty and open communication all the while. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ But Katee Robert’s writing is always a good time and a good time I did have!

I’m currently reading THREE books, although technically I’m really only “reading” one.

  • The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling โ†’ 2% โ†’ BR w/ Leslie + Julie โ†’ I’m literally just starting this but I’m EXCITED to finally dive in!
  • A Ghost in Shining Armor by Therese Beharrie โ†’ 45% โ†’ I’ve stalled in my progress because it’s just not working for me. It’s been instalove from the start but also a lot of “tell” + little “show”, so I’m sadly not connecting at all! ๐Ÿซฃ
  • Wolfsong by TJ Klune โ†’ 48% โ†’ BR w/ Leslie + Destiny โ†’ I made a tiny bit of progress on this… I’m going to focus on it after I finish these other two reads (she says)!
Untying the Knot by Meghan Quinn, When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain by Nghi Vo, Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score, This Vicious Grace by Emily Thiede, Funny Feelings by Tarah Dewitt

  8. I’ve seen a lot of great things about This Vicious Grace! I hope you current reads pick up for you. It sucks when they make you stall.

    • I feel like I’ve had that on my “read next” list for … a very long time now and I still haven’t picked it up. I’ve heard a lot of great things about it too but I’m a little scared of the hype ๐Ÿ˜… I hope I end up loving it just as much!
