We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time curled up reading in bed with or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be spending my Sunday night continuing A Ghost in Shining Armor by Therese Beharrie. Sadly, I’m not connecting with this one at all and I’m struggling to get through it. I think this could be, in large part, due to my current reading mood and head space because nothing is really clicking with me at the moment and it’s very frustrating. I was kind of tempted to DNF this when I felt like I wasn’t making any progress, but since it’s an ARC, I’m going to do my best to get through it.
📖 SYNOPSIS
Once haunted…
Gemma Daniels has never been quite the “down to earth” woman her adoptive parents raised her to be. She even has a unique gift: she can see ghosts—and she likes helping them settle their unfinished business. But the hotter-than-hot stranger she impulsively kisses on a bet is not only a phantom, he’s determined to help her. And the only way Gemma can explain his presence is to pretend they’re a real-life couple…
Twice shy…
Levi Walker lived—and died—to save his sister. Now he’s got a second chance at life if he assists Gemma in reuniting with her own long-lost sibling… and then never sees Gemma again. But as he starts to enjoy her irrepressible personality, he’s finding it hard to abide by any rules at all…
Third time’s the unforgettable charm…
Gemma is thrilled to be getting to know her sister, but it causes a family rift she may not be able to heal. On top of that, she’s falling for a ghost with a dilemma. For Levi must decide what loyalty—and living—is truly all about. To fix their mistakes, Gemma and Levi must risk being real with themselves—and each other—if they’re ever to claim true love…

Work has taken over my life and that’s basically all I have to say? Kidding! Although, it’s not far from the truth. My parents were in Thailand this past week so my sister and I ended up hanging out and going for meals a couple of times. One night we treated ourselves to this bougie Italian place and had delicious homemade meatballs, freshly made pasta and of course, tiramisu! 😍 Other than that, it was a pretty average and uneventful week and I’m so sad that the weekend is already over (yet again)!

Recently, my blog stats have been on my mind a lot and I keep thinking about what I’m doing so differently compared to before that they’re now record lows. I know I’ve spent less time blog hopping in the last few months but it really only hit me this weekend just how little I’ve been engaging when I realised that I hadn’t responded to any comments on my blog all week! I know blogging is what I do in my free time and with my new job that free time has been cut down significantly, but it’s still frustrating to know just how little energy I have left at the end of each day for engaging with other bloggers. I’m hoping that I can really change that in the coming weeks. 🤞🏽 On that note though, thank you to everyone who has stuck around despite my lack of activity—I appreciate you all so very very much!! 💜

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you have a great week ahead! Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

You always have such wonderful food pictures. Yummy! I had the same problem with Beharrie last book (And They Lived Happily Ever After). I DNFed. Blogging should be fun, not weighing you down. I hope you can find something that works for you and makes you happy

Thanks, Sam! My sister constantly reminds me to take food pics whenever the food looks great as it comes out 😂 This is my first Beharrie book so I’m kind of disappointed that I’m not loving it! There seems to be a disconnect and I’m not sure what it is. And I agree, blogging shouldn’t weigh me down but I just need to find the right balance, I think!

Aw, thank you so much! My sister had this piece commissioned for my birthday earlier this year and I’m so happy with it! 🥰 The pasta was great—especially the ragu! 😍 Honestly, I’m drooling just thinking about it, lol.

That’s so great you got to spend time with your family. I hope your mood shifts or the book gets better.

Neither of those things has happened and I feel like I need to pick it back up again but also, maybe I should leave it for now (even though I’m halfway in)! Let’s see how the rest of this week goes 😂

Yeah, I’m bummed that my current read isn’t doing it for me especially since I was looking forward to giving this author a try… 🥺 Still persevering though, lol!

We all have periods where commenting back isn’t the easiest. So don’t sweat it or those stats. 🙂 The food pics look yummy.
I love the cover of Ghost in Shining Armor, but I keep seeing not so great reviews for it. Bummer!

I actually didn’t look at any reviews or ratings beforehand but I guess I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s not fully loving it? There’s a disconnect somewhere and I’m not sure what it is but it’s not working for me 🥺

That dinner looks absolutely delicious! I’m glad you got to spend some time with your family!
I can relate about being too exhausted after work to blog hop and reply to comments. As much as it pains me because I’d love to do more, I mostly only manage one evening a week to do that. It’s a compromise to myself in a way. Know that we’re always here for you and love your content so it’s okay if you need a bit of time off from the blog too every now and then! ❤

I can relate to being too exhausted to blog hop, reply to comments, or blog at all. It’s not easy with a full-time job and college. Sometimes it feels like I can do anything, other times I just want to sleep more than 5 hours per night. 😂 It’ll get better, Dini! ❤ Love the food pics!!!
