I ask myself this every year (and like, probably every month for the past few months, lol, but) where did October go? The end-of-year months always pass in a blink and this past month was no different—I legit can’t believe we’re in the second to last month of the year now! Here are some highlights from this month:

- My cousin had her wedding reception (and final wedding event) at this gorgeous cliffside location in Uluwatu, Bali.
- I won a Twitter Giveaway (the second time I’ve ever won anything on socials!) and received my copy of The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy! 😍
- My new job has been tiring but it has also been invigorating to be surrounded by ambitious creative people.
- Midnights (3am) by Taylor Swift — I’m still religiously listening to this album and love it more and more each day.

This month was probably more hectic than the previous months due to work but that also meant less travelling for leisure and more time spent at time home decompressing post-office hours. I still overestimated how much I’d be able to read and how fixed my mood was going to be but I still ended up reading 16 BOOKS this month! This was another month of having zero reads below 3-stars; though now that I think about it maybe one or two should’ve been rated lower, I’m just too tired to overthink so I went with the first rating that came to mind.
My two 5-star reads couldn’t be more different but I think The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy wins out by a smidge for top favourite just because it made me feel all the feels and I’m a sucker for this romance.

- Alicia @A Kernel of Nonsense shared a list of Latin-X Owned Bookstores
- Yolanda @Past Midnight brought the MidnighTS Book Tag to my attention, and it includes a 3am edition too!
- Kaya @A Fictional Bookworm got heated answering the Unpopular Opinions Book Tag and she had me cackling!
- Queenie @The Erudite Labyrinth spotlighted many South Asian authors/creators this month but I especially loved this interview with Rati Mehrotra, author of Night of the Raven, Dawn of the Dove.
- Some bloggers came through with posts this spooky season: Jordyn @Birdie’s Book Nook with spooky, but not scary reads, Saima @Stories with Saima with cosy reads this autumn, and Caro @Book Cheshire with the Halloween Book Covers tag.
- I loved these discussion posts by Nicole @Thoughts Stained with Ink who talked about blogging engagement and Mint @Mint Loves Books who shared thoughts on why book bloggers aren’t obliged to support authors.
- Elli @AceReader created the Criminal Minds Book Tag which is perfect for those who love and miss the show.
- Jennifer @My Book Joy reviewed If You Could See the Sun by Ann Liang and it made me want to read the book asap.

Goodbye October, Hello November! We’re down to the final two months, folks. How was your month of reading? Do you have big reading plans for final months of ’22? What was your favourite read in October? I hope you all have a great month ahead! 💜

Reading 16 books is insane, well done! I’m really hoping to check out Babel next year. The great reviews have slightly dampened my fear of it. Thanks so much for the shout-out. It was a fun tag (sadly I didn’t create it though). Hope you read just as much this month.

I will say that Babel is definitely not light reading but wow, is it an amazing piece of work! Oops, sorry, I didn’t realise it wasn’t an original tag—I will fix that 🙂 Hope you have a great month ahead too!

Omg yes, I highly recommend it! I’m so glad I picked it up on a whim cos who knows how long I would’ve let it linger on my TBR and I know I would’ve been so irritated with myself when I finally read it 😂 It’s SO GOOD! I hope you love it!
