So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week is actually a freebie and so I decided to do a topic that I don’t think I’ve done before: Bookish Characters (these could be readers, writers, authors, librarians, professors, etc.)
I love reading books about books and stories with bookish characters that are so relatable so this prompt wasn’t too difficult for me to find books for. I think I may have done a similar prompt once or twice before but I can’t remember what books I listed for those. 😅 I’ve read all of these books and most of them are even favourites!

- Strange the Dreamer: Lazlo is a bookworm, librarian and dreamer 💜
- Words in Deep Blue: full of readers, letter writers and booksellers
- The Empress of Salt and Fortune: Cleric Chih records stories and the land’s history
- The Great Library series: Full of apprentice librarians
- Sorcery of Thorns: Elisabeth was raised in a library full of magical tomes 💜

- The Will Darling Adventures: Will Darling is a bookseller and owner of an antique bookstore
- Rare Danger: Jasmine is a curator of personal libraries
- Go Deep: Navaya is an erotic romance writer
- The Bookish Life of Nina Hill: Nina is a bookworm and bookseller
- See Me After Class: Arlo and Greer are English teachers. There’s cosplay and a swoony grand gesture!

Have you read any of these books? Do you enjoy reading books about books and relatable bookish characters? What are some of your favourites?

Hey, we have some of the same books on our lists this week! Great choices. See Me After Class has caught my eye, too.

I hope you love it! I wasn’t expecting to love that series as much as I did but the characters really grew on me 😍

Meghan Quinn is always a good fun time for me. This isn’t my favourite of her books but it gave me the laughs and some of the swoon that I was looking for lol

Wow, you came up with the full ten answers! Good for you. 🙂 I struggled a bit this week.

It took a bit of scrolling through my Goodreads list as I racked my brain for whether a certain book really did have bookish characters or if my brain just made it up 😂 I honestly thought I’d have more books with bookish characters on my list but apparently not!

I didn’t do this one but off the top of my head I can only name two characters. 😂 Great job coming up with so many!

Haha, it took a bit of scrolling through my Goodreads list and I totally thought I’d find more that I’ve read but apparently they’re all still on my TBR 😂

I hope you love it! I have to be honest and say it wasn’t my favourite of MQ’s romances or even my fave of that series (the third book was *chefs kiss though!*) but it was still a fun enemies-to-lovers romcom! Happy reading 🥰

I loved Go Deep, See Me After Class, and Words in Deep Blue. Excellent bookish character choices.

Same as you, I found the topic a lot easier than some. And who cares whether you have listed them before, I know I keep repeating some books all the time, we all do.
My favourite cover there is “Words in Deep Blue” but that could have to do with the fact that blue is one of my favourite colours.
My TTT this week is all about readers.

Too, right! Favourites are favourites and of course they’ll keep coming up in my lists 😂 Words in Deep Blue not only has a beautiful eye-catching cover but the inside is just as wonderful too. 💙 Thanks for stopping by, Marianne!

I completely forgot about Lazlo. Great catch. I loved that book. I totally misread the prompt. You did it right, I didn’t but I did make a fun-to-explore list. Check it out at Characters in Real Life

I almost forgot about Lazlo until the cover came up on my Goodreads list as I was scrolling for titles for this post! Such a great character and book. I checked out your post and enjoyed the fun twist you made to the prompt! Thanks for stopping by 😃

There are too many great bookish characters to recall them all at once 😂 This happens to me a lot when I’m making these TTT lists, LOL!

Words in Deep Blue is a FAVORITE of mine (along with Nina Hill which I am sure you already knew). I miss Cath Crowley. I hope she will write something again soon.

Omg YAY! Someone else who loved Words in Deep Blue! That was my first and only book by Crowley but I’d definitely love to check out more by her. It made me so deeply emotional (ugly crying all the way LOL) and oh, how I loved it!

I love seeing some Meghan Quinn up there! I just love her but haven’t read See Me After Class yet. But if there’s a swoony grand gesture, I’m there! 🙂

The swoony grand gesture featuring some bookish character dress up really did it for me 😃 It’s not my fave of her books but still lots of fun (when is a MQ not though)!

Yes, it’s a fun and steamy read with great banter! I really enjoyed this friends to lovers dynamic 😍 Meghan Quinn is great and I’ve got all her books on my TBR lol I hope you enjoy it if you pick it up (it’s on KU, like most of Quinn’s books, if you have it)!

I’ve read a couple of books of The Great Library series and I enjoyed them, though I still have to finish the series. Sorcery of Thorns sadly fell victim to my reading slump last year, I got through most of it, but I still need to finish. Sadly Strange The Dreamer and I didn’t gel.

I also still have to finish The Great Library series but I think I got to the last book, just haven’t got around to picking it up yet. Oh no, I’m sorry to hear about the slump and SoT falling victim to it 😢 Sometimes a certain book just isn’t for you and that’s OK though! I have quite a few that I picked up during a raging slump and haven’t finished yet but plan to… Eventually lol

Ha ha that’s basically the story of my life, so many series books just sitting on my bookshelves screaming at me to finish them. It was definitely mostly the slump because there was a lot I was really liking about Sorcery of Thorns, I just couldn’t quite get to the end at the time. Hopefully I will someday (by which point I will probably have forgotten everything about it!).
