Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve managed to finish four books. While one of them didn’t work for me, two were enjoyable and fun reads and one was a clear favourite for me!

An Arrow to the Moon by Emily X.R. Pan ★★★½
I initially rated this 4 stars but brought it down cos even though there was a lot that I loved, the more I thought about it, the more the ending disappoints me. It was still a great read though and if you love Pan’s beautiful writing I’d still recommend it! Check out my review
Josh and Gemma Make A Baby by Sarah Ready ★★½
While this had a lot of elements I tend to love in romances, the execution was lacking and I ended up being sorely disappointed especially because as the story progressed, the “heroine” became increasingly unlikeable and I couldn’t find anything redeeming about her by the end.
Sofi and the Bone Song by Adrienne Tooley ★★★★½
My first book by Tooley but certainly not my last—this was a fantastic and extremely enjoyable read. There’s magic, music, witches, secrets, adventure and a sweet sapphic romance that had my heart fluttering! Check out my review
Her Best Friend (More Than Friends #1) by Sarah Mayberry ★★★☆☆
Some wild unrecognisable part of me (lol) wanted to add more angsty reads to my life, so when I saw Nick reading this, it sounded perfect so I swooped in on it too. I loved that it was set in Australia, I enjoyed the banter + angsty feels and Mayberry’s writing was nice, but it wasn’t anything particularly special.

I’m buddy reading We Free the Stars with Leslie and Julie and we’ve been flying through it! Someone mentioned this was angsty and it is truly serving peak angst energy! But I love it? Catch me over here drowning in all the feels and basking in it. Who am I even?! 😂 Seriously, these characters will forever have my heart—I love them so much.

26%: No further progress was made with Fake It Till You Bake It cos of the blog tours and buddy read but I’ll be picking this back up as soon as I’m done with WFTS.

I’ll also be buddy reading MMR with Leslie & Julie but the others are all ARCs I’ve somehow gathered over the last week? After all the angsty reads I need a little fluffy romance in my life!

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

Fake it til you make it has been sitting in my kindle BEGGING me to read it, think I’m gonna pick it up sooner rather than later! 🌻

I can’t wait for you to read Liese’s book! The enemies vibe in that one is so fun. I adored the characters. I am hoping you will, too.

Yay for We Free the Stars. I love that duology so much. Every time I see someone mention it, it makes me want to do an impromptu reread. Hope the rest of your week goes well.

Endings have ruined books for me. Sorry to hear the ending to Pan’s book was disappointing.

“Her Best Friend” sounds cute! and surprisingly the SECOND romance novel I’ve added to my TBR list this month that takes place in Australia… Maybe I need to plan a trip! I am currently HOOKED to the Morgan’s Run Western romance series by M. Lee Prescott (https://mleeprescott.com/). It’s a great series because the books can be read on their own but ….I promise…once you read one, you’ll want to read them all. I just finished “Tom’s Ride” and I have been daydreaming about Tom Jacobi all week. I love this series because there is a strong focus on community and family and good people who work hard are rewarded rather than punished (although they do usually have to go through some twists and turns to get to their happy endings). For example, Tom, has just gone through a terrible divorce (it needs to be said he is a great guy with a BIG heart) and he decides to get a job (out of town) at Valley Stables. His new life brings him to Grace, another person with a heart of gold, who is taking care of her ailing father and trying to keep the family business going. Their struggles lead them to each other and the book provides a great balance of loving nurturing support and some racy & risqué scenes too. Highly highly recommend!
