I’ll be spending Sunday night in bed with We Free the Stars by Hafsah Faizal. This is the final book in the Sands of Arawiya duology and I’m buddy reading it with Leslie and Julie! 💜 It’s still early days in the book cos I keep getting distracted by other things (🤣) but I can already tell it’s gonna hit me in my feels with all the angst!
What are you currently reading?
I’ve been slowly melting in the Bali heat over the last week. I honestly can’t remember it being this hot when I lived here for years? But it blows my mind that by 9AM every day it’s already flaming sun balls hot! And people say global warming isn’t real when it feels like I’m literally being warmed up in a microwave all day! 😭 Thank goodness for cold showers, pools to cool off in, and ACs.
In other news, one of the best things about being back in Bali is that I can regularly meet up with one of my besties who live here. Yesterday we spontaneously ended up at Pandora buying friendship charms for each other. 😂 It was a little bit of a celebration cos she has been doing so well and I’m so proud of her! Hers is the little robot guy holding a wee rose and mine is chewie because duh.
We also ended up at the bookstore yesterday and… I might’ve ended up buying a book or five? Listen, it’s been *so long* since I’ve been to the bookstore and when I walked in and saw all the releases my *grabby hands* mode activated to expert level. My bestie, being the good friend she is, made me sort through the piles I picked and I ended up with this smol pile and then she dragged me out after I paid before I could change my mind and buy more! 🤣

It ain’t easy being near the equator. I had to turn the heat on this morning as some weather system brought some cold air in since yesterday. That Chewie is adorable. How fun to be able to spend time with good friends. I don’t think five books is that much either. Treat yourself.

I wish we could exchange weather (at least for a little while)! 😂 I’m happy with the five I bought and I’m glad that I kept it to a decent # of books! It really is great to be able to spend time with good friends—I definitely missed doing that. I hope you have a great week ahead, Sam!

God, I wish it was warm here. It’s FREEZING here in New York, and I spent yesterday under a blanket with our heat blasting. I’m currently reading Always be Your Duchess, which is an arc of a historical romance! It’s…decent so far. Not anything noteworthy yet, but I’m only 25% of the way in!

Awww, Chewie is my favorite so I’m in love with your charm. I hope you’re able to find some relief from the heat. We had beautiful warm weather over the weekend but by yesterday it was cold, rainy, and I think there was even a frost. I spent most of the day wrapped in a blanket, lol.

I absolutely love Chewie too! We were waffling on whether we wanted to get anything and then we saw these two charms and it was love at first sight (the only time I like it haha)! 😂 Oof, the weather around the world has been so erratic lately. I hope you get the nice warm weather back soon, Suzanne!
