Since last Wednesday, I’ve managed to read six books and all of them were reads I really enjoyed!
Across a Field of Starlight by Blue Delliquanti ★★★½
A fast-paced, action-packed and wonderfully diverse sci-fi graphic novel! Check out my review!
The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna ★★★★☆
This was another buddy read with Leslie 💜 Though this was slow to start, once the action picked up we both sped through this read! I definitely get the hype.
Work For It by Talia Hibbert ★★★★☆
This was an MM romance between a cynical+jaded city bloke and a big-hearted bear of a flower farmer. One of the darker romances I’ve read by Hibbert, it’s full of angst and touches deeply on mental health issues, but well worth the read! These two… 🥺
From the Top (Central State #2) by Jaqueline Snowe ★★★★☆
An incredibly fun popular girl x nerdy boy romance. I loved Freddie, adored Cami and their romance was full of explosive tension! It’s on KU if you have it. 😉 Check out my review!
What the Fang? (Undead Ever After #1) by Stacey Kennedy ★★★½
This was a short PNR full of witches and vampires—oh, and a wee dragon named Ambrose who loves cuddles! It’s a bit instalove but what can you do about fate? 😂 My review is up this weekend but this is defo a fun-time read!
Don’t You Forget About Me by Mhairi McFarlane ★★★★☆
I was looking for a light fluffy read and this ended up being the opposite but I still loved it! There was enough light-hearted banter to offset the more sombre tones and though the romance was minimal, I just couldn’t put it down. I’d advise checking CW/TW before reading though!
It’s time, people! Jess @ Jessticulates and I are buddy reading Jade Legacy and both of us were so nervous to start. I’m about 20% in and ngl, I’m still nervous—a few tears may have already been shed too. Just a few tho—I’m an emotional reader, okay?! 🙈
Side note: I’m following along with the audiobook and I’m reminded how much I love Andrew Kishino’s narration. It’s so great and I’d highly recommend checking out the audiobooks for this series!
I’m buddy reading These Violent Delights this week and I’m reading Beneath Cruel Fathoms for a tour next week. Plus, I’m sure I’ll need to read ALL THE ROMANCE after Jade Legacy 😂

Wow, you really got a lot done! I’m always curious about McFarlane’s books but I haven’t read anything by her lately. Maybe I should take a look though. 🙂 Happy reading!

Good luck getting through Jade Legacy without becoming a sobbing mess. I did not prevail. Lol. I cried so much, but it was so good.

I bawled like never before. Holy wow, it was A RIDE 😭 Several days have passed and I still kinda feel like the Kauls walked away with my heart? I can’t 😂😭😭

Me too. I was emotionally numb for a while after finishing it, and it still makes me tear up when I think about everything that happened. 😭😭

I have been putting off reading Jade War because of what Fonda Lee did to me in Jade City!

Oh I LOVED Don’t You Forget About Me! Such an emotional read. I remember I bawled my eyes out the last few chapters. I And oh, I need to read Jade Legacy and Work For It. I’m reading a Hibbert book right now, Merry Inkmas, and loving it like everything she writes so hopefully I’ll get to it soon. And These Violent Delights is absolutely fabulous! I hope you enjoy it. I think that was my first McFarlane book. I liked it. I read one or two after that, but hope to read more. I am all about the fluff.
