Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ve found myself in a bit of a weird reading mood so I’m not sure what I’ll be reading this Sunday. I’ve got three books that I feel like I want to start reading but I’m not sure yet what will stick! The three books are a mix of MG Fantasy and Adult Contemporary: The Counterclockwise Heart, The Witch, The Sword and the Cursed Knights, and Convenience Store Woman.

What are you currently reading?

This was a pretty uneventful week that passed by pretty slowly. My consultancy gig had me busy on Monday-Tuesday and it was my little sister’s birthday on Friday, but other than that not a lot happened! My sister got many cakes so we had fun doing a little tasting round of all of them that night. There’s an 8-year age gap between my sister and me and I can’t believe she’s now 26; ngl, it kinda makes me feel old cos I always picture her as a kid (I was already off to uni when she was still in elementary/middle school and we never really lived together until now)!

January has been a wild month for reading and I’m dreading making my monthly wrap up but I started that today cos it’s gonna take me a while to get it done 🥲 Surprisingly though I’ve written reviews for almost all the books that I read this month—I just have to start scheduling them on the blog. Do you have fixed days for posting reviews or do you prioritise posting reviews over other posts (like weekly memes) on your blog? ICYMI, here’s what I posted this week:

Blog Tour Review: The Thirteenth Hour by Trudie Skies
Let’s Talk Bookish: Re-Reading Books?
Book Review: Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo
#WWWWednesday: 26 January 2022
#TopTenTuesday: New to Me Authors I Discovered in 2021
Blog Tour Spotlight: Frozen Hearts and Death Magic by Day Leitao

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you have a great week ahead! Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

  1. Aww, happy belated birthday to your sister! My brother and I are fairly close in age, but he’s still older than me and I never let him forget it 😂 Hope you found something to get you out of your weird reading mood! I’m finishing up The Thirteenth Hour and it’s just 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

    • Thank you! Haha, my sister definitely never lets me forget it either 🤣 I’m so glad you’re enjoying Thirteenth Hour—that read was such a treat! I’m still struggling a bit with what to read but I think my brain is too distracted right now lol I hope you have a great week ahead, Kerri!

  2. Those cakes look amazing! What a way to celebrate. That’s awesome that you are up to date on your reviews. I try to get my done on the weekend (one more to go!). I do use a set schedule for posting. It’s been great during Covid for helping me remember which day it is. HA!

    • I’m honestly pretty chuffed with how diligent I’ve been with writing reviews. It’s too easy to say I’ll get it done later but uh, if last year is anything to go by, it never gets done later! 😂 But maybe I’ll start setting aside at least one day per week to write the ones I haven’t done yet. Good idea! Hope you have a great week ahead, Sam 😊

  3. Happy birthday to your sister! That cake is freakin adorable! 😍 I feel you when it comes to feeling old because of siblings, lol. My mom had six kids and I am in the middle. The youngest is 21 and I’m 30! He will always be an itty bitty baby to me. 😂

      • Ohhhh no!!! I know, I’m going to pick up some quick middle grades to keep me going. I was getting into a weird mood over the weekend. So glad that I DNF’d the one book or I would have hit a major slump! We got this!!
