Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

I’ve been going through books like a speed demon lately. Since last week I’ve read… a lot of books! More than I’ve ever read in a week but it does include graphic novels and mostly novellas! I also buddy read 3 books with Leslie @ Books Are the New Black, which have really moviated me to keep up the reading momentum this month! 😃

Silver Shark (Kinsmen #2) & Fated Blades (Kinsmen #3) by Ilona Andrews ★★★★☆
The Kinsmen world is amazing and I loved these books! So much action, so many amazing abilities, such wow world building and amazing romances! I want more 😍 I can definitely see IA becoming a fast fave for SF romance!
How to Walk Away by Katherine Center ★★★★☆
My first buddy read of 2022 with Leslie! This book was at turns infuriating and heartbreakingly painful but also hopeful and surprisingly humorous. It often had me laughing out loud throughout the read but had me quietly weeping at the end. A beautifully written story ❤️
Ayesha At Last by Uzma Jalaluddin ★★★½
This was a loose retelling of Pride and Prejudice but so rich in culture and it was a treat to read! Ayesha and Khalid really go through it to get their HEA but it’s so worth the journey to get there.
Mistlefoe: A Mead Realm Tale by Kimberly Lemming ★★★☆☆
I had no idea what to expect but this was an entertaining read featuring a world with humans and magical/mythical creatures, fake dating, and many horny swords. It was weird, unique and funny!
Mindf*ck Series (Books 1-5) by S.T. Abby ★★★★★
These covers are entirely misleading! This series was WILD in the best way—who knew I’d love a romance between a serial killer and FBI agent?! It’s a dark and brutal revenge story and I would highly recommend checking the CW/TW before reading—but if you can handle it? So worth it!
Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo ★★★★☆
This was my second buddy read with Leslie. This was written in verse and fairly easy to read, though it was tough connecting at first. A heartbreaking but hopeful story about grief, loss, identity and family! It had me weepy by the end 🥲
Heartstopper Vol. 3 & Vol. 4 by Alice Oseman ★★★★★
Too, too precious. Nick and Charlie are the most wholesome, heartwarming and loveable beans and I adore them with my whole freaking chest. I buddy read vol. 4 with Leslie!
A Dead Djinn in Cairo (Dead Djinn Universe #0.1) by P. Djèlí Clark ★★★★☆
I can’t believe this was so short cos Clark did an amazing job setting up this alternate history rich in myth and magical creatures including djinn, ghuls, angels and power hungry gods. I loved it!
Make it Sweet by Kristen Callihan ★★★★☆
An ex-hockey player who is passionate about baking? Um, hello? That’s not the only reason I really enjoyed this one. Callihan writes an entertaining romance full of heart and emotion plus this also had some great humorous moments that had me laughing out loud. The side characters were just as fun as the mains!

I started Blackout yesterday during my lunch break and loved it! I’m now about 80% done and I’ve been so pleasantly surprised by this anthology! I’ll be starting The Thirteenth Hour by Trudie Skies tonight for my spot on the blog tour this weekend. I’m so looking forward to it cos it sounds amazing!

mood reading is fun, kids!

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍

Wow!! You definitely got in a lot of reading – even if most were shorter than average. I definitely hope to get to the Mindf*ck series soon!!

Congrats on all the books you read! And I hope you enjoy what you are reading/going to read (I know all about that mood reading, sometimes so frustrating). As for me I am currently making my way through Dark Vanessa, a stunning book but a heavy subject making it not that easy of a read.

Thank you! I honestly surprised myself with how much I read 😂 Dark Vanessa is on my TBR but I’ve been hesitating to pick it up because of the heavy topic. I’ve heard it’s so good though—I hope you “enjoy” it! Happy reading 😊

I LOVED your thoughts on How to Walk Away. That book made me both laugh and cry as well. That ST Abby series… WOW! So impressed and glad you were too! And Make It Sweet was fun. So many good reads for you this week! I hope you like Walsh’s series. I enjoyed that one. It’s definitely more NA than the other series you read.

Yeah, the Mindf*ck series definitely surprised me in the best way! I definitely had a great week of reading. I can’t wait to dive into Walsh’s series even though I know nothing about it I just scooped it up cos it was going for such a steal! 😂 I’m trying not to go in with too high expectations but hope to enjoy it just as much as the Havenbrook series!
