We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

This Sunday I’ve spent most of the day reading (and finishing) Glimpsed for my first blog tour of 2021 next week! This was such a fun YA contemporary set in high-school. I loved the fairy godmother aspect and although there were things that I had issues with, I had such a good time reading it. I really liked Charity and I loved the adorkable Noah! My tour date is on Wednesday so I’ll be posting my review then!
Charity is a fairy godmother. She doesn’t wear a poofy dress or go around waving a wand, but she does make sure the deepest desires of the student population at Jack London High School come true. And she knows what they want even better than they do because she can glimpse their perfect futures.
But when Charity fulfills a glimpse that gets Vibha crowned homecoming queen, it ends in disaster. Suddenly, every wish Charity has ever granted is called into question. Has she really been helping people? Where do these glimpses come from, anyway? What if she’s not getting the whole picture?
Making this existential crisis way worse is Noah—the adorkable and (in Charity’s opinion) diabolical ex of one of her past clients—who blames her for sabotaging his prom plans and claims her interventions are doing more harm than good. He demands that she stop granting wishes and help him get his girl back. At first, Charity has no choice but to play along. But soon, Noah becomes an unexpected ally in getting to the bottom of the glimpses. Before long, Charity dares to call him her friend…and even starts to wish he were something more. But can the fairy godmother ever get the happily ever after?

Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA over the last week as my full-time work contract ended and things at home somehow got busier (or perhaps its just that I got lazier) as the hot mess that was 2020 came to an end and we very calmly and quietly slipped into a new year. *I still can’t believe it’s a new year already!* Since my family doesn’t celebrate Christmas, our big “festive” party is usually New Years Eve and we go all out with the food and our extended family and some friends. As with most things in 2020, this year’s celebration ended up only being very different and it was just the five of us at home, and in the end most of us were in bed by 10pm 😂

I did stay up to keep my fluff company as he’s always been an anxious wreck when it comes to fireworks. We stayed up until 2am trying to stay calm and in that time I also counted down to the New Year with my friends on Animal Crossing! It was a really cute celebration. I love this game so much and I’m so glad that I caved into the pressure from my sister to get a Switch and play it!
I really hope that this new year is going to be a brighter and more positive one for all of us compared to 2020 (hopefully not hard to do, right?) Let’s do this 2021! 🥳

Since officially starting my holiday break on Wednesday last week I’ve fallen deep into my reading cave and have been loathe to come out of it! I did push myself to *finally* post yesterday but I haven’t blog hopped since last week, so I definitely have to work on that! That said, I’m really planning to take as much advantage of uninterrupted reading time until I have to start part-time work on 11 January! I really need to shake off the reading fog though and get around to writing some reviews otherwise I’m going to be in major trouble thanks to my goldfish memory 😂
In my week off I’m hoping to get myself sorted for what I hope to do in 2021 especially related to reading and my blog. I really need to figure out what I wanna do with my bookstagram. I completely disappeared off that platform last year, which is a shame since I worked hard to build up a small following of regular friends before that, but I focused a lot on my blog and it was too stressful to keep up with both (+ Twitter) while working full time. I find bookstagram so much more stressful and I really can’t figure out the algorithm so I’m kind of tempted to let it go… Do any of you regularly blog and post on bookstagram? Do you have tips on how to balance doing both (and work/life)?
I kind of have a “big” plan to revamp (and upgrade!) my blog for my two year anniversary in February and so far I’ve done nothing for it, so I really need to sort my ideas to get that ball rolling! I’m so excited for it though and I really hope it turns out well 😃

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you have a great week ahead! Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

Glimpsed sounds so adorable – I really like the premise. And I love that you celebrated with your Animal Crossing friends. That so fun! My kids got a Switch for xmas and they’ve been playing Animal Crossing a ton!!
Can’t wait to see your new blog revamp! 🙂

Glimpsed is a really fun and sweet read. I think you’ll like it 😃 Haha I bet your kids are loving Animal Crossing–it’s such a fun (and slightly addictive) game and I’m so glad that I started playing it last year. My 2020 would’ve been so different otherwise 😅
