Um… How is it already mid-December? Every day this week so far has felt like a Friday and I have a feeling that’ll continue to be the case until the new year π Where is time going?!
Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I managed to finish five books:
Steel & Stone (The War of the North Saga #1) by Kate Haley β

I really loved the concept of this story but I felt that the writing was a bit clunky, especially with changing POVs in chapters, and sadly, I found the main characters and their love-triangle angst a little too frustrating. Our characters were around the 18-21 age but really came across as much younger. That said, I’m curious to see what will happen next! Check out my full review.
Spellbreaker (Spellbreaker Duology #1) by Charlie Holmberg β

It took me a little while to actually get into this story but once I did I ended up really liking it! The first half was a bit slow in pace, but once the action really kicked in, I sped through in less than a day. I enjoyed the historical setting, the magic, and of course, I was a fan of Elsie and Bacchus, and their slow burn romance. There were some twists and turns that I didn’t expect and I’m so curious to see what happens next! Review coming soon.
Big Girl, Small Town by Michelle Gallen β

I wrote a first impressions review for this book last week (or was it two weeks ago?) and predicted it’d be a four star read, and I was right! Once I finished the book I felt a little sad that Majella wasn’t real and I was also left with a huge craving for a fish supper from the chippie (don’t judge me, I love it lol). π This was nothing like I’ve read before and I found Majella to be quite a unique character and although nothing really happens I still really enjoyed it. Full review coming soon!
Kingdom of the Wicked (Kingdom of the Wicked #1) by Kerri Maniscalco β

Unpopular opinion time and I’m just as disappointed as you are about it, but… I didn’t end up loving this as much as I hoped I would. It’s the same thing that happened to me with SJTR and so I’m thinking perhaps Maniscalco and I just don’t jam? I enjoyed it enough to want to continue with the series though because I’m curious about what’s gonna happen after that cliffhanger of an ending! My full review is going up tonight and honestly, it’s a bit of a long one! π€£
In Pursuit of Happiness by Freya Kennedy β

I read my first book by Kennedy earlier this year and I was happy to return to the small close-knit community on Ivy Lane. Just as in book one, this was much less of a romance and more of a story about stepping out of your comfort zone to pursue your dreams, and of course, pursuing happiness (whether that’s with a partner or not). π Tour review up tomorrow!

My stop on the blog tour for Amari and the Night Brothers is coming up this weekend and I’m excited to dive back into the story! But I think I’m in a bit of a romance mood? I’m looking for a romcom that’s gonna be fun and fast and I think That Swoony Feeling fits that bill. I love this series and I’m kinda sad that this is the last book. I’m looking forward to reading Brig’s story though because he is such a melodramatic cheeseball that it’s ridiculous, but I absolutely love it π

Can someone please tell me how next week is already Christmas?! I mean, my family and I don’t even celebrate it but I mention it because time is going ridiculously fast and I have so much still that I want to read before the month is out? Here are a few festive romances that I’m looking forward to checking out this December!

How is your reading week going and what are you currently reading? Hope the rest of your week goes well!

Amazing! So happy you enjoyed Big Girl Small Town. It is definitely one I want to read.

Amari and the Night Brothers looks so good! I’ve seen a lot of disappointed reviews for Kingdom of the Wicked. I’m not going to pick it up so I’m looking forward to your review!

That Swoony Feeling was so fun! I get why you picked that one up. I also really enjoyed The Mistletoe Trap and Christmas in the City. I hope you do, too. Happy reading!

Thanks for the reminder that I need to read That Swoony Feeling! Like you, I really don’t want the series to end. And I have to have my copy of Christmas in the City sitting right here on my desk. π I was panning on starting it tonight. π

Hey, even if your don’t celebrate a holiday, you can still celebrate it in books π€£ if those are counted, I’ve celebrated Eid a few times π Also I feel like every year it’s like, oh wow how are we already in December? But it has never been more warranted than this year. π
