Hi everyone, I’ve joined the @WriteReads gang on another blog tour and this time it’s for: Catalyst! Today I’ll be doing a spotlight and sharing some mini-excerpts from the book. Super huge thanks goes to Dave for organising these tours and thanks to the author for providing a free copy. Don’t forget to check out the other bloggers on tour here.

Goodreads: Catalyst (The Catalysts #2)
Publication Date: 02 June 2020
Publisher: Brown Books Publishing Group
Genre: Young Adult, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Supernatural

Marcie Horton has a sixth sense. Not in the โI see dead peopleโ way, but . . . well, maybe a little. She feels a sort of knowing about certain things that canโt be explainedโan intuition that goes beyond the normal. Then there was that one summer four years ago, when she connected with a long-departed spirit . . . But nothing that incredible has happened to Marcie since.
This summer, Marcie is spending time working at Angel Mounds, the archeological dig her mother heads, along with her brother, Eric, and his girlfriend, Renee. The dig is the site of an ancient indigenous civilization, and things immediately shift into the paranormal when Marcie and her teammates meet Lorraine and Zeke. The two mysterious dig assistants reveal their abilities to access the Universal Energy Field with their mindsโ something Marcie knows only vaguely that her brother has also had experience with. Marcie learns how our planet will disintegrate if action is not taken, and she and her team must decide if they are brave enough to help Lorraine and Zeke in their plan to save Mother Earth, her resources, and her history.
It looks like the summer just got a lot more interesting.

โA surge of energy jolts me, and my body starts vibrating from head to toe. Iโm not exactly falling, but I have the sensation of movement, and my feet no longer feel like theyโre connected to the earth. One moment Iโm holding hands with Leo, and the next moment Iโm disconnected, by myself, alone . . .โ
โ page 148
โMaybe this is what Iโve been waiting for: a mission and a purpose, connecting with the collective consciousness. I feel a little like Iโm stepping off a cliff into the unknown, but if I donโt move forward, I know Iโll regret it.โ
โ page 35
โThe drumming changes to a slow, resonant tempo, and I feel my vibration slow as I focus on connecting with the earth. The feeling of connectedness and of being beyond space and time are still with me as I leave the Fifth Dimension, but there is also sadness in knowing that I canโt stay there yet.โ
โ page 96
โAs suddenly as this sensation started, it ends, and Iโm back with my feet on the ground, holding Leoโs hand. Iโm disoriented because itโs still utterly dark, but I sense the others around me. What just happened?โ
โ page 148
โAll the times I went stargazing with my dad I wondered about the stars and galaxies we saw. I felt a certainty that life existed elsewhere in the Universe. I never once imagined I would meet that life, though.โ
โ page 151
โThe closer I get to the top, the brighter the crystal glows, and the stronger I sense its electrical current. The Native spirits whisper encouragement to me as I climb, giving me the confidence that this is what Iโm supposed to be doing.โ

TRACY RICHARDSON wasnโt always a writer, but she was always a reader. Her favorite book growing up was A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine LโEngle. In a weird way that book has even shaped her life through odd synchronicities. She has a degree in biology like Mrs. Murry, and, without realizing it, she named her children Alex and Katie after Megโs parents. Tracy uses her science background in her writing through her emphasis on environmental issues, metaphysics, and science fiction. When sheโs not writing, youโll find her doing any number of creative activities โ painting furniture, knitting sweaters, or cooking something. She lives in Indianapolis, and, in case youโre wondering, yes, sheโs been to the Indianapolis 500.
