We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Books on My Summer 2026 To-Read List
If you’ve been on my page before, you’ll know that I’m very much a mood reader so I’m usually going with vibes. I do have some tentative buddy reading plans for the summer, but for the most part, today’s Summer 2026 Possibility Pile is mostly books that I think sound good reads for the next couple of months. Aside from my buddy reads (marked by a ☀︎),

☀︎ The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne
☀︎ The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst
☀︎ Assassin’s Quest by Robin Hobb
☀︎ In the Labyrinth of Drakes by Marie Brennan
☀︎ Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes

☀︎ Paladin’s Hope by T. Kingfisher
When the Tides Held the Moon by Venessa Vida Kelley
Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield
Pet by Akwaeke Emezi
The Survivors by Jane Harper

What books are you planning or hoping to read this summer? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR?

Happiest summer TBR-ing! Hope you enjoy reading them all. 🙂

Ooo Our Wives Under the Sea looks so good! And I haven’t seen that around the bookish circles at all

I actually don’t see it mentioned a lot on the blogosphere anymore but it was super popular a couple of years ago (or was it last year—I can’t tell with time anymore, haha), but then I saw it everywhere! It sounds a little weird and creepy but I think I’m in the mood for that, hehe. 🤭

Paladin’s Hope has been my favourite in the series so far.

Omg, so excited to hear you say that. So far, Paladin’s Strength is my fave of the two but I’m keen to see where the series goes next!

I somehow haven’t seen any of these books before haha. The Enchanted Greenhouse sounds interesting though. I’ll wait to see your thoughts on them when you’re done!

I picked up Hobb’s book on a whim last year when I saw so many people talking about her books and I’m so glad that I did. What incredible fantasy! I hope you enjoy her books whenever you get to them 🙂

An intriguing list, Dini. I enjoyed The Survivors. I should check out the Sara Beth Durst series. I think I would enjoy it. I like cozy fantasies and all the covers are so appealing. Enjoy whichever books you read over the summer.

I think you would possibly like Sara Beth Durst’s series. It’s very cosy, fantastical and whimsical 🙂 I’m glad to hear you enjoyed The Survivors. I haven’t read anything by Jane Harper in a long time so I’m looking forward to it. I hope you enjoy your summer reads as well!

Pet is a really good one. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything quite like it. I hope you get a chance to read all these!

I don’t see a lot of people talking about it actually but I’m glad to hear that you liked it! You’ve definitely piqued my curiosity by saying that you don’t think you’ve ever read anything quite like it—makes me more excited to get to it now! 👀

I love that we have nearly half of these in common due to buddy reads 😂 who are you reading The Shadow Of The Gods with? I’m guessing Paladin is with Leslie as I think I saw that you read the first of those together. Tbh I should try to get to the John Gwynne series soon so I’ve read something by them before their new release. I also want to get to the Paladin series soonish but have a couple of other Kingfisher titles to check out first. Love the water theme going on with a few of the others. This looks like a great TBR and I hope you enjoy them all 🥰

Hahaha, I love buddy reads and I’m so glad we’re doing more together again 💜 I’m reading Shadow of the Gods with Becky right now and yes, the Kingfisher books are a buddy read with Leslie! We’re loving the series so far and can’t wait to continue it—I hope that you love it to whenever you get to the series. They’re so cosy and wonderful and weird and funny! 🤭 I also hope that you enjoy your foray into Gwynne’s fantasies. They may be epic, but they’re also incredibly readable… Much like Hobb’s fantasies in a way, I think. Happy reading to you as well, Charlotte and I hope we enjoy all our buddy reads, lol.
