I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed finishing Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy.
I think I’ve got about 15% left in the book but I’ve been completely sucked in and I even got teary-eyed a few times. It’s definitely an incredibly slow burn, but it is also so highly atmospheric and beautifully sad. I love how mother nature and everything on this island feels so much like a character of its own. It’s not gonna be for everyoneβespecially if you don’t like slow, drip-fed, atmospheric mysteries (with a lot of miscommunication, lol) but I totally get the hype!

It sucked coming back to reality on Wednesday after spending the earlier part of my week in Bali. The highlight was celebrating my nan’s 95th birthday on Tuesday night. It was really lovely to see everyone and to have everyone in the same room together, as always. I don’t actually have any photos (I don’t know why I thought I did) but I guess my aunt hasn’t shared them yet, lol. But here is a photo of me and my sister at the dinner π Another highlight was that I got some really amazing bookish goodies gifted to me by Leslie & Julieβtwo of my fave bookish besties! They sent books, so many bookish goodies, and Leslie even 3D printed me so much cool stuff (I haven’t put it up yet, but I will)! I’m so blessed to know such awesome people and to have such thoughtful friends. π₯°
I’ve really not been posting and I was kinda surprised to see that I only had one post up this week. That said, it has been hectic, but I’m giving myself some grace until at least June is over because once this month comes to an end, I’ll be jobless so I’ll have time π€£

olivia rodrigo’s new album is hands down AOTY for me, no lie. it’s so good and i fear i’ve been terminally obsessed with it. i’ve been listening to it non-stop on repeat every single day. i’m just enjoying her sound so much! playing through my mind right now is: stupid song. olivia does sad love songs so freaking well π

How wonderful to get to celebrate your nan’s 95th birthday with your family. It’s always tough to come home and go back to work. I love that picture of you and your sister. You both look so happy. Aw love that you got that family time – and happy birthday to your nan! I already want to go on another vacation lol…but I can’t, I’m trying to save up money to get some Olivia Rodrigo tickets because that’s how much I’m obsessed with her new album too! π It’s so good!

Omg girrl I wanna see her so bad! Her new album is amazing and I haven’t been able to stop listening to it even now. A random refrain from one of her songs will pop up in my head and then I feel the need to start listening to the whole song, which turns into the whole album, again π€

I do the same with her album – I’ll play one song and then next to you know I’ve played the whole album without realizing it! So I was trying so badly to get tickets to her tour for me and my kids to see her in December, but it all sold out. Then her Daisy Chain Festival tickets dropped and honestly I knew I would lose that ticket war too but while sitting in the queue for 15 minutes…I remembered they had a ticket/hotel package and went to that link instead and scored tickets and a hotel. π I was in shock and still am because I still need to book my plane tickets (my kids and a friend are going with me) lol. I’m so not a music festival kind of person, so this will be a first for us, makes me nervous and excited! Hopefully you can score tickets when she announces her Asia tour because I’m sure she will go there!
