We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’ve spent my Sunday in bed reading Howl’s Moving Castle. This is my buddy read with Becky and it’s been an interesting experience so far! I keep comparing it to the movie because it’s one of my faves (in Ghilbi and general)! There are major differences but I’m not mad about it. It’s a whimsical
What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

I’m going to keep this here for a while in case more people decide to migrate over but Bluesky seems to really be kicking off over the past week. If you want to find me there I’m dinipandareads.bsky.social! 💜
It was a rather busy work week but it didn’t feel overwhelming or stressful. I think next week will be the last busy week before everyone starts going on holiday and things really quiet down. I’m looking forward to it. 😊 I don’t have any leave plans for December yet but I’m thinking of taking a long weekend over Christmas and the New Year. I wouldn’t mind spending a couple of days lying in and reading/gaming well into the night! 😂 Do any of you have exciting holiday plans this year?

I’ve been thinking a lot about reading challenges that I want to participate in next year. As it usually does for me, the year starts strong for the challenges but as the year progresses, work gets busy and things fall by the wayside. 2024 was the same and it does get a little demotivating at times. That said, I think I might just go for the additional ones I’m interested in (i.e. Popsugar Reading Challenge, 12 Book Reading Challenge, and Buzzwordathon) on top of the usual ones I do (i.e. Magical Readathon and Year in Aeldia) because why not, right? 🤷🏻♀️🤭

DENIAL IS A RIVER – Doechii

I really hope you’re all doing okay and treating yourself with care. Let’s have a great week ahead! 💜

Glad to hear things are going well. I have no special plans for the holidays, but I am NOT working. Glad about that. I love reading challenges, so I wish you luck with all your plans. I want to add a few monthly prompts. I tend to enjoy those most. Popsugar and Read Harder always have too many prompts I don’t like. HA! I want a goal but for it to work for me, you know?

Yay for not working! 🎉 That would already be exciting enough for me, lol. Fully agree with having a goal work for you! I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself if I decide to pursue some of these challenges. I’m just gonna have fun with it and if I “fall off the tracks” at least I can say I tried, lol.

You always have a buddy read going on it seems!
Your work is like mine then, I think (hope) this next week will be the last chaotic/busy one before things calm down. I do not have any plans to visit or travel anywhere sadly, so I will do, like you said, and have some cozy afternoons at home reading.
I will try joining some reading challenges this year! I like the social aspect and they seem fun! Will I make it? Who knows. I do agree with what you said, that one might lose focus as the year progresses.
Have a good week, Dini ❤

I’ve been planning my reading challenges lately, too. For 2025 I’m going to join more than I have been doing, but I’m also going to keep them casual. I’m not going to add any pressure on myself to finish the challenges if I don’t end up feeling like it!

I can’t do reading challenges – I try but I can never finish or I forget about them lol. I’m glad work will quiet down for you!

I make (what I feel is) a valiant effort with reading challenges at the start of the year and then as it goes on I slowly peter off because life and all that jazz. 🤣 I try to do a little bit better each year but I don’t usually succeed, lol.

I love HMC! I read it too because I am a big fan of the Ghibli movie and yes, you are right: it is so much different!! But, honestly I genuinely liked comparing them and somehow I had no struggle at all seeing them as individual works. Happy reading!

They’re both unique in their own way and I ended up really appreciating the differences between them. I also enjoyed comparing them. Now that I’ve read the book I’m keen to rewatch the movie for the third time this year lol 😆

If it wasn’t for the nostalgia I have for Spirited Away, HMC would be my favourite ghibli movie. I could rewatch it forever too.

Spirited Away is my #1 as well but I mean, it’s honestly so hard to choose sometimes with Ghibli. I love them all but Totoro has a very special nostalgic place in my heart cos that was the first Ghibli I ever saw as a kid! 💜

Totoro is such a comfort-watch for me too! I recently watched Whisper of the Heart for the very first time and that one was awesome too. Never gonna get tired of Ghibli, you’re right.
