Sorry if this update is more rant and less book/blog-ish 😂
We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be spending my Sunday night in bed reading The Prospects. This came in one of the final Illumicrate Afterlight boxes that I subscribed to and it’s a beautiful, very sporty edition. I hardly know about baseball and this goes into more detail than I expected, but I’m still able to enjoy it and I’m curious to see where it goes!
What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

Hello, friends. It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? I feel like I’ve said that a lot this year but I feel it’s been a year full of interruptions! If you’ve hung around my blog for a while, you probably know that September wasn’t fun for me. It ended up super busy and stressful with multiple high-level work events and business trips. My most recent work trip to New York was… Something! 😂 While the event went smoothly, it was not without multiple earth-shaking bumps until the day of. I can’t lie, I was also disappointed by my experience on this trip because it was not great in many respects. The NYC I visited this year vs. the NYC I visited in 2018 felt like two completely different worlds!
Anyway, I don’t want to further dwell on it. On the very positive side: I got to see Wicked on Broadway and it was amazing! 😍 I also got to spend half a day spoiling myself silly at the shopping outlet and got some fantastic deals before heading home. 🛍️💜
Sadly, the month ended with me returning from my trip only to fall immediately and miserably ill! I’ve been out of it for the past week+ and although I’m on the mend, my bronchitis (as always) still lingers. It’s been… a time! 😅

Unsurprisingly, with all that has happened, I’ve been almost completely absent on the blog/blogosphere, and neither have I been doing much reading. I’m a bit bummed because there were some things I really wanted to spend more time promoting (such as the release of Nicole’s book: Blood Price! 🎉) but alas, it is what it is… I know things will turn around in October, but from past experience, it’s gonna be slow going. I just need to find my groove + motivation again and hopefully, that’ll happen sooner rather than later.

I really hope you’re all doing okay and treating yourself with care. Let’s have a great week ahead! 💜

Oh no, I am sorry so many things happened during that trip, but at least it is now over and hopefully that takes some pressure off of you. Plus you got to see Wicked!!! Incredible! Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Ugh I hate to hear the trip wasn’t great AND you’re feeling poorly, Dini! I am sending all of the healing vibes of every type of variety and I hope you’re able to get a lot of rest. 🖤🖤

Sorry to hear about all the stress but YOU DID IT! It’s over!!! Congratulations! I have been very disenchanted with the city and I grew up there. It’s really gone to hell in the last few years.

I never heard back from you to see if you were going to NY!! I didn’t get to send my stuff.. ahhh!! I am so sorry that it was not the same. I’m glad it’s all over though and I really hope you fell ill. I cannot seem to escape the sickness bugs either. I have missed you! I’ll have to DM you soon. ❤

I’m so sorry you had a bad month and didn’t enjoy NYC. I haven’t been back there since 2009 and my friend and I saw Jersey Boys. I would have loved to see Wicked there! Bronchitis is not fun so please get all the rest you can get and I hope you get better very soon!

Hope you have a better month in October and get better soon.
I’m a bit jealous that you got to see Wicked … and on Broadway no less.

Hang in there, Dini, I know things will get better. Too bad your trip to NY was a bit disappointing, but how exciting to have seen Wicked on Broadway. I hope October has started off a bit better for you.

How crazy! I saw Wicked on Broadway the Sunday you posted this. We just missed each other! So I’m curious to hear what was different about New York for you. It was my first time going (within memory).

Oh, I feel you with the “finding motivation” part. I’m constantly exhausted when I get home, so that’s something to get used to and find a way to deal with. I feel ya.
