We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today!

I’m not currently reading anything as I finished two of my reads this weekend and sped through a historical romance ARC that I did not enjoy! 😂 I think I’ll pick up Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews. Their books are always a good time and I think it fits my current fickle mood the best.
What book are you spending your Sunday in bed with?

This week passed by in a blur! The first 2/3 was spent in Jakarta and the last 1/3 was spent in Bali. Today was my nan’s 93rd birthday and she didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so we just had a small immediate-family-only lunch at this beautiful traditional-style restaurant far away from the touristy areas. It was nice and drama-free (rare in my family, lol)! We didn’t plan to have dinner again but my nan spontaneously invited people at the last minute and well, this whole evening wasn’t drama-free and it was honestly exhausting but… Family, I guess? 🤷🏻♀️ Tomorrow is a public holiday in Indonesia (Happy Eid Al-Adha to those who celebrate!) so I won’t be working but I’ll be travelling back to Jakarta. Hopefully, it won’t be too crowded!

I’ve still been feeling a bit slumpy lately? I’ve struggled to really get into my books and I don’t know if it’s my mood or if it’s the book (ngl, it’s probably the former) but I’ve had to really work to get into my reads lately! I’ve also been slacking off on blog hopping and responding to comments—sorry, all! I’m hoping I find my groove again soon…!

I really hope you’re all doing okay and treating yourself with care. Let’s have a great week ahead! 💜

Belated happy birthday to your nan! You guys look absolutely adorable. 💖 And yes, family. The Asian family drama in particular never ends (at least behind the scenes). 😅

Haha, yeah, I got too excited at lunch thinking DRAMA FREE DAY! But I spoke too soon 🤣 Ah well, it’s something we learn to live with I suppose, lol. Thanks, Aimee 💜

Thanks, Yolanda! And yeah, family drama is so universal. I feel like sometimes Asian family drama takes it up a notch but I’m sure situations can always be worse 🤣

Thanks, Carla! She does look great for her age 😍 A lot of people never believe me when I say she’s 93, lol. I hope if I ever reach that age, the same young skin genes will activate for me too, hehe

Safe travels! I know what you mean about family drama. My family is about 50/50 on whether there will be drama, but it’s still great to be able to visit. And happy birthday to your Nan! 93 is quite impressive.

Thanks, Nicole! 93 *is* a feat! Sometimes family drama just erupts from nowhere and I always think to myself “how in the heck did we get here when five seconds ago everything was fine?!” 🤣 Maybe that’s the way it always is when it comes to family, lol.

I really think it might be! There’s so much history with family, that drama can spring up from (seemingly) nowhere.

I’ve also been feeling a bit slumpy so I’ve been grabbing random things to read to jump start my interest again. I hope you find your groove!

It’s such an irritating feeling especially when you actually do want to read and … Nothing sticks! I hope you have a less slumpy week ahead too, Celeste!
