The Magical Readathon: Orilium Spring Equinox 2023

Hello, it’s officially APRIL which means it’s time to get back to school for ✨ The Magical Readathon: Orilium Spring Equinox 2023! ✨ If you have no idea what I’m talking about, our lovely host G @Book Roast created this Beginners Guide to the Magical Readathon, just in case you’re interested in starting your own journey to Orilium!

First of all, I wanted to check in and see how everyone doing—how are you all?! There’s a lot of wild energy going around in the world right now—I mean, that always seems to be the case but I feel like the wildness has been amped up lately—so I hope everyone’s doing okay and taking care of yourselves! 💜

Is anyone excited to return to class this year? I’m admittedly excited but also kinda nervous because I’ve not been doing an amazing job of reading lately and it’s taken more effort than expected to get back into reading more often; mostly because there’s just no time! 😂 Thankfully, I have a fairly light class load each spring.

Check out how I did in my first year at Orilium in 2022!

Orilium Spring Equinox Class 2023 Prompts + Possibility Pile

I know there’s an option to change the calling but I’m going to continue pursuing my calling as an Illusionist Rogue. This means I’ll be attending three classes: Art of Illusion, Psionics & Divination, and Shapeshifting—these are the same classes as last year but the prompts are new this year!

As always, I’m terrible with TBRs so I’m going to share a few possibilities for each class that will allow me some flexibility throughout the month. On that note, let’s get straight to my reading list!

*covers linked to Goodreads*

ART OF ILLUSION: Focus: Self Disguise — Match clothes colour to cover colour

This one’s a bit tricky because it’s about the colour of the clothes I wear while reading but since most of my clothes are either black or… Well, sometimes purple, I’m going with these options. Also, I gotta be honest, I’m currently reading Royal Rebel and I’m also wearing black so… We’re on track! 😉

PSIONICS & DIVINATION: Cloud Study 101 — Clouds on the cover or in the title

SHAPESHIFTING: Form: Wolf — Wolf on the cover, title, author’s name

I have very few existing titles for this prompt. I’ll likely end up reading For the Wolf!

And that’s it for my Spring Equinox classes! Are you joining the magical readathon this term? Are you changing your calling or are you sticking with your calling? How many books are you reading?

  1. Every summer after is on my tbr! I’ve heard great things about it. I hope you enjoy your classes this semester! I almost went with illusionist rogue but decided for craftsmage which I think fits my character well. 😂

  2. I love the new covers for the Klune books!! I requested book 2 through Netgalley months ago and I haven’t been approved. ah! lol. I am sticking with my calling too but I should switch bc I need like 7 freaking books or something like that. LOL

    • I quite like the new covers as well! It’s giving me claymation vibes and honestly, I’m not mad! 😂 I haven’t requested books on NG for a while cos I’m doing so poorly with actually reading them on time—shame on me! But I hope that they get back to you soon! And holy wow, 7 books!? That’s a lot! And not even the second semester when books usually double up?! Good luck, friend! I hope you enjoy all your reads!

      • Oh! Yes, claymation is the perfect way to describe them!! Yeah, it’s too many books. haha. I have slammed all my arcs in there so hopefully I will be able to get them read. If worse comes to worse then I’ll start using kids books. hahaha
