We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books on My Spring 2023 To-Read List
As a mood reader, it’s rare for me to actually stick to TBRs or even the possibility piles that I come up with but as a list lover, I do enjoy making these lists. I haven’t been reading as much lately so there are actually *tons* of books that I need to read and that I really want to read ASAP. I think for this spring possibility pile, I’ll look at five ARCs and five books from my backlist and in no particular order…

If Only You by Chloe Liese
Hungry Ghost by Victoria Ying
Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee
Last Sunrise in Eterna by Amparo Ortiz
A Botanist’s Guide to Parties and Poisons by Kate Khavari

The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang
The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty
Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan
XOXO by Axie Oh
Anatomy by Dana Schwartz

Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR or possibility pile? What books are you hoping to read this spring?

I hope you love all of them!

I like that you call it a possibility pile!

As a mood reader, I’m terrible with TBRs so I definitely like the sound of possibility piles more 😂

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on all of these! I really need to get to Anatomy as well. It sounds so good!

Fonda Lee has a new book?!
I really enjoyed The Dragon Republic. I’m hoping to pick up The Burning God and round out the trilogy next month.

YES! She does! It’s a novella actually but I’ve been seeing lots of great things about it so I’m super excited to check it out 😍 I’m excited but also scared to continue the series with Dragon Republic. Gotta gear myself up to feel all the feels! 😂 I hope you enjoy the conclusion to the trilogy!

I can’t wait for Liese’s book. It made my list, too. I pretty much know we’re going to love it, but I really hope we do!

Omg, ME TOO! I’m so excited 😍 I feel like we’re going to love it and I hope it’s true as well, lol! Happy reading, Deanna!

You have several here that I’m anxious to get to. The Kingdom of Copper and XOXO are the only ones I’ve read so far. I struggled with the first half of The Kingdom of Copper but ended up enjoying it overall. XOXO was a winner for me, too.

Honestly, I feel you with the beginning of KoC. I enjoyed the ending of the first book a lot more than a majority of the beginning as well and I thought I might feel differently about the second book but I’m getting those same vibes. I think I just need to stick with it and not be distracted by anything else! 😂 I can’t wait to read XOXO cos I’ve heard great things, too.

Well, if you feel the same way I did about the first two then maybe you’ll feel the same way I did about the third book. I thought it was perfection from start to finish!

I have the same problem- my list is lonnng and I just picked at random basically what I thought I might decide to read ha!
Daughter of the Deep looks so fun!

There are just too many books to choose from, Greg! And who knows what the mood will dictate. 😂 I’m looking forward to Daughter of the Deep—I hope the story is just as fun as the cover looks!

I loved Babel so I think I should look for The Dragon Republic now.

The Dragon Republic is the second book in her Poppy War series and I really enjoyed the first book but it’s quite a lot more brutal than Babel (which I also loved)! I would definitely recommend it but I’d also caution reading the content/trigger warnings too (just in case). 🙂

I loved so many of the backlist books! Anatomy is one that’s on our list, I believe. I think Julie has it too!! I hope that you get to all of these and love them. I know how our mood reading is though. 🙂

YES! We need to get sorted on our buddy reads cos we have so many and sadly have done so few this year so far 😂 I’ll message you! And if Julie is up for a buddy read of Anatomy I’m so down to start it maybe next month or at the end of this month?

Yeah, I forgot about Anatomy!! That’s one we all need to read too. I think it’s smaller and will be a quick read too.

I still need to read the 3rd book in the City of Brass/Daevabad trilogy, I keep meaning to, it’s been on my TBR for years.

That’s how I felt about the first book and when I finally read it last year I thought I’d immediately pick up the second book but I keep pushing it off now, I don’t know why 😂 I hope you enjoy the third book whenever you get around to reading it!

I love the term “possibility pile.” That’s definitely what my lists are. Even if I don’t stick with them, I just love making them. It’s fun to consider the possibilities 🙂 I hope you love all these if/when you read them.
Happy TTT!

As a mood reader, it’s nice to have the possibilities 😂 I also love making lists even though 90% of the time I don’t stick to them, lol. Thank you!

I really enjoyed The Kingdom of Copper so I hope you do too! I love your framing of these as possibility piles, I’ve started trying to do the same thing, it makes me feel better when I reach the next season and I haven’t read all of my planned TBR list and it feels much less restrictive if I decide I’m in the mood for something else!

I hope I love it, too. I think I just need to properly start it and not allow myself to get distracted by other reads so I can just finish it 😂 I’m too easily distracted! And yes, possibility piles are definitely a lot less stressful and less pressure because they’re just possibilities and I think, perfect for mood readers!
