We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is a Genre Freebie (Pick a genre and build a list around it. It could be a list of favourites, a to-read list, recommendations for people interested in reading books in that genre, “if you like this, try this”, etc.)
This week was a bit of a toughie for me and I almost skipped it but I decided to go for something simple and look at ten adult fantasy titles that I hope to read this year. I tend to mostly read YA fantasy on this blog but I’m trying to mix it up by adding more adult fantasy titles to my list. A few of these are new series that I can’t wait to start while others are the second or third book in a series that I can’t wait to get back to!

Honestly, I’ve been reading very little fantasy lately. I tend to go in cycles as far as which genres I dive into. She Who Became the Sun sounds interesting, though.

I need to read the rest of The Bone Shard Daughter series – I feel like I have just not as much time to read this year like I did last year though. So we shall see if I ever get to it. I hope you get to read these!

I’ve only read The Invisible Life of Addie Larue from your list but I really loved that one. Most of the others are still on my TBR. Hope you’ll enjoy all of these!

It’s interesting to see how much attention adult fantasy has been getting in the past year. I guess it’s thanks to lots of great new authors contributing to the genre.

I’ve read all but three of these, Dini!! She Who Became the Sun, The Garden of Empire, & When a Tiger. The others are all so good. The Unbroken was just an okay read for me. I’m in the middle of the second book (arc) and enjoying it so much more!! Great list.

You have so many good books on your list. THE BONE SHARD DAUGHTER is one of my favorites (I’m reading the sequel right now and its so, so good). THE UNBROKEN will break your heart (and the sequel is just as ruthless). SHE WHO BECAME THE SUN is such a fascinating exploration of gender.
I also hope to read THE OLEANDER SWORD and THE DRAGON REPUBLIC this year!

The Bone Shard Daughter is on my list of books I want to read this year. And I just started The Poppy War, and I know for sure I’ll be finishing the series. I’m absolutely hooked!

I love Nghi Vo’s novellas, I really need to get my hands on the third one. And Addie Larue was beautiful. I have lots of the others languishing on my TBR too.
