We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is a Cozy Reads (Share books that give off a cozy vibe, whether through atmosphere, setting, or some other factor. Please tell us why they’re cozy for you, too!)
Well, if the title isn’t enough indication, I’m going rogue for this week’s TTT because the ‘cosy reads’ topic is very close to what I decided to do for last week’s Thanksgiving freebie. As I was wracking my brain trying to think of what to do, I decided to help myself narrow down my choice of top reads for 2022 by starting the decision-making process. My thought is this: I’ll choose my top ten from both the first and second halves of 2022 and then pit them against each other to come up with my top 3, 5, and 10 of the year! This makes it a sort of ‘series’ and it sounds simple enough but I know it won’t be, lol. I’ve also never done this before though I thought it might be fun. 😂
For now, let’s take a look at my top ten reads from January – June 2022. Books are listed in reading order starting from January!

Heartstopper (Series) by Alice Oseman
Blackout by Various Authors
Mindf*ck Series by S.T. Abby
Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee
Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree

The Worst Guy by Kate Canterbary
Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
We Free the Stars by Hafsah Faizal
Everything for You by Chloe Liese
A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers

Well, that was even tougher than I anticipated so I wanted to mention six additional noteworthy reads!

The Wedding Set Up by Sonali Dev
Fated Blades by Ilona Andrews
The Deep by Rivers Solomon
Beneath Cruel Fathoms by Anela Deen
Sofi and the Bone Song by Adrienne Tooley
Chef’s Kiss by Jarrett Melendez

Narrowing the list down was tough but considering how many books I read in the first half of the year, I don’t think I did too bad getting it down to 10 (well, 16ish)! What were some of your favourite reads from Jan-June this year? Any favourites here?

Yes to the mindf*ck series and Heartstopper. I love those two so much.

I don’t know if I could assemble such a list, so I commend you. You do read quite a bit, so to narrow it down to one or two books per month is amazing.

I’m thinking about the Top 10 list that I’m gonna come up with today and *gulp* the second half of this year is DEFINITELY gonna be a tough one to narrow down! 🥺

I think if you loved the show you’ll definitely love the graphic novels. There’s a little more depth to them as well as we really get into both their heads! 🙂

Ooh, definitely give it a go! I had a feeling I’d enjoy it but didn’t realise just how much. I hope you love it if/when you pick it up, Joanna!

Seeing Heartstopper included puts a smile on my face. Each book is the definition of cozy between two covers. 🙂

Omg, it really is the definition of cosy between two covers. That’s a perfect way of putting it 😍

Love this list! Hearstopper will forever be elite and Mindf*ck was so entertaining – a definite guilty pleasure haha. I really need to read JAde City. One of my (many) goals for 2023 is to read more of the fantasy on my TBR and this series is one of them.
And I’m so happy to see Chef’s Kiss on this list because I literally downloaded it before class and I can’t wait to get to it later on.

I think what made Mindf*ck even better for me was just show unexpected it was. I was definitely expecting one thing when I looked at those covers (still some of my least favourite covers to exist LOL) but wowzer, it was SO much fun to read! And YES! The Green Bone Saga is seriously so so good. I hope you do pick them up (and if you enjoy audiobooks, I’d definitely recommend the series audios cos the VO does a brilliant job bringing these characters to life)! I really hope you enjoy Chef’s Kiss. It’s so freaking cute 😍

Ugh the covers are so bad that I went out of my way to try and find an alternate version. The covers I keep using whenever I talk about them, idk if they’re official or fanmade but I use them anyway lol.

I’ve seen LEGENDS AND LATTES on tons of lists this week! It’s not really my genre, but I may need to read it anyway. It looks cute.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

Oh, great way to do this! It is always so hard to narrow it down to ten books for the year! I’ve read and enjoyed several of these, as well. And some are still waiting on my tbr. Happy reading in December, Dini!

I thought this list was hard but today’s list (part 2!) is going to be much harder. The hardest is always narrowing it down even further to the Top 3, 5, 10! I don’t know if I’ll be able to do it 😂 I hope you have an amazing December, Dedra!
