#WWWWednesday: 23 November 2022

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week, I have managed to finish four books! I’ve been on a bit of a series binge and I also read an ARC of a cute little Christmas novella by a favourite rom-com author, so it’s been a great reading week!

(ARC) Resting Scrooge Face by Meghan Quinn ★★★★☆
This romantic Christmas-themed short story would be the perfect addition to brighten up your holiday reading lists! It was cute, sweet, funny and entertaining! We have meddling oldies, anonymous letter exchanges, a second-chance romance and that great small-town charm—plus, we get to revisit Port Snow and that’s always a win for me! 😍 My review will go up this week.

Wolf Gone Wild (Stay a Spell #1) by Juliette Cross ★★★½
This wasn’t a bad start to the series but I found the writing a little bland and the pace a little too unexciting to fully enjoy the story. Evie and Mateo were a cute couple and I loved how they appreciated each other personally and professionally. It’s quite a slow burn but definitely worth the wait! They were so sweet together and definitely had a fun and playful relationship.

Don’t Hex and Drive (Stay a Spell #2) by Juliette Cross ★★★★☆
Isadora and Devraj heated up my Kindle something fierce! What sizzling chemistry! What delightful banter! This opposites-attract romance had me hooked from the first page and I loved every minute with these two. This was also a lot steamier than the first book, unexpectedly so, but I loved how these scenes brought them closer together.

Witches Get Stitches (Stay a Spell #3) by Juliette Cross ★★★★☆
Violet and Nico’s journey to coupledom was a long one but it was full of angsty mutual pining and enough sexual tension to power a small town! I loved their friends-to-lovers romance with a little bit of playful enmity thrown into the mix. They had such amazing chemistry and I loved how caring and tender these two were under their rebellious moody natures. This series is starting to feel like a comfort series to me—it feels like coming home to an old friend!

As I said, I’m on a roll with this series and last night I picked up the fourth book in the series: Always Practice Safe Hex by Juliette Cross. I’m excited to read about Livvy and our first grim, Gareth! I’m so curious to see what we learn about these secretive supernaturals. → 2%I promptly fell asleep before getting too far but I’m excited to dive back in after work today. I just know it’s gonna be a super sexy fun time!

By the way, these books are available on Kindle Unlimited if you’re subscribed! 😉

📖 SYNOPSIS

There’s a reason no one messes with a grim…

Livvy Savoie is a people person. Not only does she have the magical gift of persuasion, but her natural charisma charms everyone she meets. She hasn’t met a person she didn’t like. Until her annoyingly brilliant competitor walks through the door. No matter how hard she denies it, loathing isn’t the only emotion she feels for him.

Grim reaper Gareth Blackwater is rarely, if ever, moved beyond his broody, stoic state. But the witch he’s partnered with in the public relations contest is destroying his peace of mind. He’s convinced that the flesh-melting attraction he feels for her is merely her witchy magic at work.

But forced proximity proves there is more than magic sparking between them. Livvy learns this enigmatic grim’s abilities are beyond any supernatural she has ever known. And when Livvy becomes the obsessive target of a dangerous wizard, Gareth proves just how powerful he truly is. Because no one is going to hurt his Lavinia.

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍

  1. I’m REALLY jealous you got an ARC of Resting Scrooge Face! I usually have Read Now with her, but this one is “Wish for It” for me. 😦 I just signed up for the ARC for Just One Tent, so crossing my fingers on that one!
