What was the last book you read?

Garnet Flats by Devney Perry

📖 SYNOPSIS

Talia Eden loved Foster Madden for one year, two months and eleven days. It was on day 438 that her love died. The day he chose to marry her best friend. The day she vowed never to think of Foster again.

Until years later when he has the audacity to show up in her small hometown of Quincy, begging for her help.

The ink on his divorce papers is barely dry, yet he comes armed with apologies and promises. She knows it’s all a ploy. Foster is the king of games and secrets. But he’s got delusions the size of Montana if he thinks she’ll help him train for a world championship fight.

Except Talia has forgotten exactly what made Foster famous. The man has dedicated his life to victory. He’s steadfast. He’s determined. And he won’t stop fighting until he’s won her heart.

Did this book meet your expectations?

If I’m being totally honest, it really didn’t. I adored Eden Hill, the previous book in this (standalone) romance series and was really looking forward to seeing how this second-chance romance would play out but it was too easy, the justifications were flimsy at best, and there was not enough grovelling by half!

Would you recommend this book to people?

I mean, I wouldn’t tell people not to read it cos I know there are those that enjoyed it. If you like angsty second chances and a binge-able small-town romance between two characters that have sizzling chemistry, this could be for you. If you love The Edens series and want Talia’s story then yeah, check it out!

What is your current read?

So, I’m actually reading two books at the moment: In A Jam by Kate Canterbary and Wolfsong by T.J. Klune.

Why did you pick this book?

In A Jam is an ARC but I’ve had my eye on this book ever since I heard Canterbary was releasing it because I adore her romances! She always writes such fantastic characters and amazing banter and chemistry. I’m currently buddy reading Wolfsong with Leslie @ Books Are the New Black and Destiny @ Howling Libraries. This is a pretty hyped series and I’m almost halfway through Wolfsong right now and I fully get the hype—these relationships? The heartwarming AND heartbreaking feels? Klune is putting my emotions through the wringer here and I’m bawling like a baby.

How much time do you think it’ll take you to finish your current read?

I’m 31% through In A Jam right now and so I think I’ll probably either finish this tonight or by tomorrow. I’m 42% through Wolfsong but I think I’m a bit ahead on the buddy read so I’m gonna put it on hold until the others catch up. Maybe we’ll finish it in a couple days?

What genre would you like to read next?

I’ve been in a funky reading mood lately and romances have helped me keep reading so I’ll probably pick a romance and then another one of my fantasy ARCs for upcoming blog tours!

What would you like to pick: a long read or a short read?

I mean, I’m never opposed to a short read? 😂 I don’t tend to read many books that are 450+ pages these days though so I guess all of them are a pretty average length and I’m okay with that.

Mention some books you’re eyeing!

I’m tagging…

If you don’t want. todo the tag, no worries, and I’m sorry if I tag you and you’ve already done it! If I didn’t tag you and you feel like doing it feel free to do so and link back to me cos I’d love to see your answers!

Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR?

    • I enjoyed it for the most part while I was reading it but there were some *weird moments* that had me going “nah, no way!” 😂 I never used to be one for angst but I guess it’s growing on me? For me it only seems to work in romances by certain authors though!

  1. Lovely post! It was a lot of fun being able to read all of your answers. Wolfsong sounds like a marvelous read and that cover is absolutely stunning! And, if I’m being honest, after looking through the books you’re eyeing, I’ll probably just add all of these to my own tbr! (What can I say? Pretty covers are my weakness 💕)

    • Wolfsong is wonderful and I’m really digging these new covers as well! I definitely feel like, if this book continues to be as awesome as it has been so far, I need to get my hands on physical copies. Haha, I’m also a sucker for pretty covers so I don’t blame you at all! 😉

    • Omg, I didn’t know you hadn’t read it yet! It’s so good, Julie. I had to stop myself from reading on cos I was going too quickly 😂 I hope it continues to be just as good in the latter half. Klune has yet to disappoint me 💜

  2. Now I really want to stop everything and read Wolfsong even more! I’ve been trying to catch up on all my ARCs, though. So, it’ll probably be a bit before I get to it… as long as the self-control holds out. lol. I’m glad you enjoyed the tag, and I loved reading your answers! 🙂

    • Omg, I think you’re gonna really enjoy Wolfsong! It’s so good 😍 I had to stop myself from reading on because I was speeding through too quickly, haha. I need to get back to focusing on my ARCs so I totally get it. I can’t wait to hear what you think when you pick it up 😃
