#TopTenTuesday: New-to-Me Authors On My TBR

So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week is actually a freebie and so I decided to do a topic that I don’t think I’ve done before: Authors I Haven’t Read, But Want To (Submitted by Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse)!

There are so many books and not enough time for me to read them all so I have *plenty* of authors to choose from for this week’s topic! I would stick to one genre but instead, I’ve decided to include authors from all the genres as there are truly so many that I haven’t read but can’t wait to read from maybe even this year! There’s absolutely no order to this list but these are the first ten that came to mind. 🤣

*the covers are linked to Goodreads*

John Gwynne – Malice
Jordan Ifueko – Raybearer
Devney Perry – Juniper Hill
Adrienne Tooley – Sofi and the Bone Song
Ocean Vuong – On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous

Nghi Vo – The Empress of Salt and Fortune
Mazey Eddings – A Brush With Love
Caleb Azumah Nelson – Open Water
B.K. Borison – Lovelight Farms
Andy Weir – Project Hail Mary

Have you read any of these authors or their books? What new-to-you authors do you have on your TBR that you can’t wait to read (this year maybe)?

  1. Ocean Vuong is one I keep forgetting and then getting excited about when they come up again. Gotta prioritize that!! The cover for Sofi and the Bone Song is gorgeous and feels ethereal almost. Definitely looking that one up… ☺️

    • Shameless plug: my review for Sofi and the Bone Song is up today and spoiler alert: I loved it! 😊 I also need to prioritise Vuong’s book—I feel like I keep saying that but this year it’s definitely gonna happen. I’m determined 😂

    • I’m excited for our buddy read and to finally read my first book by Gwynne! If you want to BR a few others that you also have on your TBR you know I’d be down for it! The year is long(ish) and there’s plenty of time! 😂 I hope you enjoy all the ones you haven’t read yet too! 💜

    • Oof, sounds like Vuong’s book is gonna break my heart (although I kinda expected it would and that’s probably why I keep putting off reading it lol)! I’ve heard so many great things about Project Hail Mary so I’m excited to finally read my first Andy Weir this year!

    • The Martian was his other very popular book wasn’t it? I (obviously) haven’t read that one either but also, I don’t know why, every time I see the cover I never feel the urge to add it to my TBR! 😂 Something about it just doesn’t appeal to me but I have hope for Project Hail Mary!

    • Did you not enjoy ABWL? That was Eddings’ debut, right? I’ll make a note for Perry’s Runaway series—I think I did see it mentioned on your blog at some point and I immediately added the book to my library cos it sounded so good. 😂 I think it was from your blog, heh. I’m very excited to try her books though!

    • As far as I can recall, I don’t actually think I’ve heard anything negative about Raybearer so I’m very excited to see what the hype is about. Glad to hear you enjoyed it and I hope you enjoy the sequel too! 😃

  3. There are some quite interesting titles on your list. “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” and “Open Water” appeal to me. And “Project Hail Mary” is already on my wishlist. So, thanks for the reminder.

And thanks for visiting my TTT this week where I chose Nobel Prize winners..

  4. I’ve read three of Andy Weir’s books and enjoyed them all! And I have a very math and science-averse brain. Haha! I hope you can pick up Project Hail Mary soon. It also has one of my favorite friendships ever. 🙂

    • Woo, that’s awesome! I’ve seen his books frequently mentioned on the blogosphere and I’ve seen them in stores a lot but for some reason I’ve never picked them up… I’m excited to start with Project Hail Mary though 😃 Knowing it has a great friendship has me even more keen to read it!

    • Same! I keep hearing so many amazing things about PHM—they hype is strong with this one and it’s a little intimidating but it also makes me want to know what everyone’s on about ASAP! 😂 I hope you enjoy Eddings’ book if check it out!

  6. I love Devney Perry! She’s an amazing writer. I only read The Shadows of the Gods by John Gwynne and I’m already obsessed with his writing. I think you’ll love both!
I read Project Hail Mary and enjoyed it a lot. I think I might pick up more of AW’s books sometime. Have you read Blake Crouch?
