Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve managed to finish seven books. Most of them were erotic romances, as I was chasing my 200 reads in 2021 (and still didn’t succeed but it’s fine lol)! I still find that I’ve carried over the weird reading mood from 2021 but I’m hoping that’ll fade as 2022 rolls on.

Before Girl (Vital Signs #1) by Kate Canterbary ★★★☆☆
I have an unpopular opinion for this one and I’m sad that I didn’t enjoy it. I just couldn’t vibe with the chaotic energy of the characters. I think this is definitely a me thing and not because of the book! Still plan to try another book by Canterbary though! RTC.
The Lick Series Box Set (Lick #1-3) by Naima Simone ★★★★☆
I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed this one. It’s erotica so the sex does play a big role in the plot (and it was very kinky and steamy) but I thought the character development was done well for novellas! The third book (Only For You) about Killian was my favourite though. Defo keen to try more by this author! RTC.
The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid ★★★½
This was my first read of 2022 and I was convinced it was going to be a 5-star read cos it started off so strong! Sadly, while I didn’t dislike it, it was also just so-so for me and didn’t make much of an impression. Perhaps it’s my weird reading mood but I’m disappointed I didn’t enjoy it more! RTC.
Dirty Duet Series by Laurelin Paige ★★★☆☆ (rounded up)
I was looking for a quick palette cleanser after my previous read and landed on this kinky series. Very little happened in this series, which was a little disappointing, but if you’re looking for a very kinky and steamy power play series then I guess I’d recommend it? It wasn’t entirely my jam though it did set my Kindle on fire! 🥵😅 RTC.

Part of me is tempted to read fantasy but I don’t think it’d work for me right now so I decided to compromise and find a romantasy! *winning* 😍 I’ve heard a lot about King of Battle and Blood in the last few months (all good things) so I’m pretty keen to see what all the fuss is about!
To be continued… Eventually!

In other unsurprising news, I still haven’t touched Warbreaker (@ 53%), Hellbound Guilds & Other Misdirections (@ 30%) 🙈… I’ll get around to finishing these eventually… LOL

Anything is possible, especially in my current mood! 😂

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍

I understand not being in the mood for something. I had been in a rom-com mood for awhile lol. I hope you enjoy your current read!

Being a mood reader is so hard sometimes! I love it and hate it. haha. You got through a lot of books but I’m sorry they were a bit of a disappointment. I didn’t know about Wolf and the Woodsman.. I was on the fence and I think I might just stay clear for a bit. I hope you have a better reading week!! ❤

Haha, I love and hate it too. Especially when I have so many amazing books on my TBR and NONE of them seem to work for me 😮💨 But I hope I shake it off soon… I hope you’re enjoying your week and your reads, Leslie!

I totally understand. Sometimes I go through times when I want to read it all, right now. Then I go through times when it all just sounds terrible and I want to read nothing. haha. I hope it picks up soon and you shake it off!

Hey, sometimes erotic romance is the only way to go! It looks like it did pretty well for you.

I’ve seen Naima Simone around a lot, but I have yet to pick up one of her books. I’m curious to see what you think of King of Battle and Blood.

I don’t actually know how I stumbled across Naima’s books but it wasn’t bad if you’re looking for a fast, very steamy/kinky read 😂 I really enjoyed King of Battle and Blood! Very reminiscent to Armentrout’s From Blood and Ash books but I enjoyed this one more! 👀

I’m in a historical romance mood this week. Just finished 2 Tracy Sumner novels, and now I’m reading How to Deceive a Duke by Samara Parish. I hope you have a good reading week, dini!

I feel like a lot of people have been in a historical romance mood lately cos I’ve seen so many mentions on Twitter. I’ve just picked up two more after seeing people’s highlights from them (woe is my wallet and TBR) but I’m looking forward to diving into them soon! 😃 I hope you have a great (reading) week too, Julie!

I really enjoyed it! It’s a pretty “light” and easy paranormal romantasy, that’s heavy on the steamy romance but so addictive that I sped through it! 😂

If you like romantasy with vampires, witches and other paranormal creatures, and don’t mind it being heavily steamy, you should check it out! It was addictive lol 😊

The King of Battle and Bloods cover is so gorgeous. I’m going to have to look into it just because of that cover.
