#WWWWednesday: 06 October 2021

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve read seven books. This past week I discovered one of my favourite reads of the year and I can’t recommend it enough—especially if you’re a fan of Norse mythology and unapologetically queer characters! 😍

The Sweetest Oblivion (Made #1) by Danielle Lori ★★★★☆
I didn’t expect to enjoy this mafia romance as much as I did but the characters, the slow burn romance and absolutely explosive sexual tension made this a delightfully heart-pounding read. My review

As Good As Dead (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #3) by Holly Jackson ★★★½
This is the third and final book in the AGGGTM series and although Pippa’s story took a wild turn that was outrageous and had me really suspending my disbelief, I appreciated how Jackson tied in all the stories and had everything come full circle. My review

The Goddess of Nothing at All by Cat Rector ★★★★★
This is an amazing Norse Mythology retelling told from the perspective of the lesser known deity Sigyn Odindottir, aka Loki’s wife (and so much more in her own right). This dark fantasy is as much a love story as it is a tragedy that ripped my feelings to shreds, and if you love mythology, queer retellings, and morally grey characters, then defo give this a try! My review

Tempting the Best Man (Gamble Brothers #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout ★★☆☆☆
This started out okay-ish but the turning point for me was the day after they finally hook up and then shit just got really silly and I could take nothing seriously, especially with the miscommunication trope that’s not even hashed out at the end? PLS. 🙄

Seducing the Sorcerer by Lee Welch ★★★½
This was a fun fantasy MM romance with lots of magic, including a weirdly wonderful flying sack horse, a sweet bear of a main character, and a slightly grumpy and mysterious love interest! The romance was a delightful mix of vulnerability and tender moments with some light BDSM in the bedroom and it was a great combination! 😉 My review

The Maddest Obsession (Made #2) by Danielle Lori ★★★★★
Holy hotcakes, this series is absolutely fire! Gianna and Christian’s romance was off-the-charts hot and I loved their intense and playfully antagonistic banter. Their chemistry was undeniable and it led to some smoking hot steamy scenes! They’re a new favourite couple 😍 RTC

The Darkest Temptation (Made #3) by Danielle Lori ★★★★☆
It’s official, Danielle Lori is the queen of sexual tension and my Kindle has now melted with all the heat from these mafia romances 😂 This enemies-to-lovers romance fell on the darker side of mafia romances and there were some uncomfortable moments… But their chemistry was undeniable and I ended up loving them together! RTC

I’m currently buddy reading Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous with Julie @ One Book More! She tagged me in a giveaway by the author earlier this year and we actually won which was amazing 😍 I’m really enjoying this YA so far—Sunny is funny and her experiences are relatable!

I’m also 30% through Hellbound Guilds & Other Misdirections but have put it aside for now to focus on some tour reads. I’ve made zero progress with She Who Became the Sun… 😬

More ARCs, more tours… and probably (most definitely) a lot more romance! 😉

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍
