Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week I’ve managed to finish five books (and I’m still behind on my blog tour reads—how does time get away from me so quickly?)!
Aurora Burning (Aurora Cycle #2) by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman ★★★★☆
This was my buddy read with Sammie and we finally finished the book last week! Both of us raged just a *tiny bit* at that ending—I mean, I really love Squad 312 but oh my, how they angered me at the end 😂 What was that? Not cool, that’s what! 😒 Overall, I still really enjoyed the book as we get a good look into Zila and Kal’s histories, plus we also learn more about just what exactly the squad is dealing with. There were also some delicious twists that had me gasping. I can’t wait until the final book is out and it has lovely bb Finian on the cover! RTC (maybe)?
Exit Strategy (The Murderbot Diaries #4) by Martha Wells ★★★★½
Yay for Murderbot! Yay for reuniting with our favourite OG humans! Yay for more feelings that we don’t want to be feeling! Honestly, at this point I’m starting to terrify myself with how much I identify with Murderbot? Just as with all the other books in this series, the intensity of the action quickly escalated and of course, Murderbot’s signature sarcastic humour was still so very on point! Leslie and I are gonna continue our buddy read for this series, and though we didn’t realise book 5 was a full-length novel, we can’t wait. 😍 Series RTC!
Bloodlines by Peter Hartog ★★★★☆
This was a fast paced dystopian urban fantasy thriller that was unlike anything I’ve read before. Hartog managed to reel me in from the first chapter with a compelling mystery and a motley crew of intriguing characters—this was a helluva wild ride until the very end! My blog tour review will be up tomorrow.
Taken to Kor (Xiveri Mates #5) by Elizabeth Stephens ★★★★☆
I was reminded that the fifth book in this alien romance series came out this weekend and I was feeling like a break from the tour reads and managed to easily devour this book in a few hours. Deena and Kor were such interesting characters and I LOVED them together! Who knew I’d adore the alien pirate who had a questionable past? Not to mention all the pirate side-characters who were adorably whipped by Deena. There were times that Deena’s quirks became too quirky for me but overall, she was a great headstrong heroine. RTC!
Unwritten (The Zeeshwen Chronicles #1) by Alicia J. Novo ★★★
I loved the world of the Zeeshwen and how it was basically a melting pot of all the genres—I mean, who doesn’t love a book about books?! The friendships were sweet, the magic was cool, and the overall concept was intriguing. Sadly, I thought this suffered from trying to do too much at once, which meant less intricate world building and character development. Still, an interesting start to a new series! Check out my review.

Yo girl is falling behind on her buddy reads… Thankfully, I’m done with work for the rest of the week which means I can sink 100% into my reads starting from tomorrow. I’m currently 30% through both Kate in Waiting and The Stolen Kingdom. Kate is giving me major flashbacks to high school me minus the excessive use of the words f-boy/f-girl. 😂 The Stolen Kingdom has taken me a bit of time to warm up to as I keep getting hung up on the fact that our heroine doesn’t ask WHY and I desperately want her to ask why. 🙈 Although I do like her character and her arc has been interesting so far!

Some more blog tours and buddy reads coming up! I recently also got approved for an ARC for She Who Became the Sun and I’m so happy? 😭

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading! 😍

Being done with work for the rest of the week sounds awesome!! I hope The Stolen Kingdom gets better for you. I’ve seen so many fantastic reviews for it!

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Taken to Kor either, but it ended up being my fave of the series. Hope you enjoy your upcoming reads!

How are the pirates my favourite!? LOL I’m really looking forward to seeing which book Stephens puts out next. I know which one I want but I couldn’t vote (for some reason) so I’m just hoping everyone else wants the same as me 🤣 Happy reading to you too, Julie!

I ended up loving Kate in Waiting. I mean, there were some things about it that made me feel quite old while reading (LOL 🤣) but oh, the warm fuzzy giddy feels. I ended the book feeling so happy ❤️
