We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday in bed reading Lost in the Never Woods. I’m reading this for my spot on the blog tour next week and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve never read a Peter Pan fanfic or re-telling before so this already has that uniqueness going for it. I’m about 40% through now and I’m enjoying it but it’s definitely a lot creepier than I thought it’d be! 😂
When children go missing in the small coastal town of Astoria, people look to Wendy for answers.
It’s been five years since Wendy and her two brothers went missing in the woods, but when the town’s children start to disappear, the questions surrounding her brothers’ mysterious circumstances are brought back into light. Attempting to flee her past, Wendy almost runs over an unconscious boy lying in the middle of the road, and gets pulled into the mystery haunting the town. Peter, a boy she thought lived only in her stories, claims that if they don’t do something, the missing children will meet the same fate as her brothers. In order to find them and rescue the missing kids, Wendy must confront what’s waiting for her in the woods

I’ve been a little MIA from the interwebs this weekend and as much as I feel guilty about not blogging and engaging, it felt really good to just relax and not think about posting. So I guess it was an unintended but much appreciated smol break. It was my parents’ 35th Wedding Anniversary yesterday so we went out for a meal FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MORE THAN A YEAR. Wow. It felt really weird but we had lunch at a Japanese restaurant and got our own little room so we were closed off from everyone else 🤣 The food was so yum (with the fanciest ass salad lmao) and I’m glad we went out!
Other than that I haven’t been doing much except read and play ACNH. The last update came with some AWESOME and highly anticipated upgrades to island designing plus the Sanrio character updates! I invited Chai to the island and I AM IN LOVE! 😍 She’s an adorable little pop-star diva and her house is adorable and the items that come with her are my favourite. Can’t wait to do up one of the picnic spots with some of these items!

The biggest reading update for this week was that I finally read Jade City, which was a buddy read with Jess, and both of us loved it so much! It was a 5-star read for us and we’re gonna be doing a buddy read for Jade War when she gets her copy in! Also, Fonda Lee is gonna be an author to add to the “will completely mess with your feelings” list and it was so painful but ugh, SO GOOD! 😅 Other than that, as I mentioned I’ve been a wee bit MIA on the blogosphere… After finishing Jade City my brain just shut down and I had to work my way through a book hangover cos nothing I picked up after it could hold my attention!

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you have a great week ahead! Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

Sometimes unexpected breaks are the best to just give you a proper recharge and not have to worry about anything. Yay for 5* reads though – I hope your next one is as well!

That food looks so cool! Glad y’all got to enjoy a meal out and happy anniversary to your parents! And you have me intrigued with Thomas’s book. I didn’t expect it to be creepy.

It was too good! There was so much more food but everyone was too hungry and demolished the food before we thought to even take more pictures 🤣 Well, y’know me and scary things–I’m easily spooked! Especially when it comes to like… the feeling of the woods being alive and creepy and something watching you between the trees. 🤣

Oooh, another Aiden Thomas book–I’ll have to check that one out because I quite enjoyed Cemetery Boys.

I loved Cemetery Boys but this one fell a bit short of the mark for me. I just couldn’t connect with the characters. I think a lot of people will still enjoy it though! 😊
