Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last Wednesday I’ve managed to finish five books and that’s mostly thanks to my binge reading the rest of the Texting series by Teagan Hunter over the weekend. I may just have discovered a new favourite romance author!
To Kill A Mocking Girl (Bookbinding Mystery #1) by Harper Kincaid ★★★★★
This was my first ever cosy mystery and it had me strongly questioning WHY I hadn’t picked up these types of books before. It had so many things that I love in a book–supportive close-knit communities, a loveable family dynamics, entertaining MCs, a budding swoon-worthy romance, doggos, and an intriguing mystery! I adored this book and I’m gutted it’s not even out yet (and won’t be until May 2020) because I’m already looking forward to the rest of this series. This was Kincaid’s debut mystery too, although she does write romances so I’m tempted to check them out. My full review will be out closer to the pub date!
Nils: The Tree of Life by Jerome Hamon ★★★☆☆
While the illustrations blew me away (seriously gorgeous art work!) the storyline of Nils was weak and I often found myself confused with what was happening, especially towards the climax. The story felt disjointed at times, jumping too quickly from one fast-paced scene to another, without proper explanations and that was a bit of a let down. Can’t recommend the illustrations more though! If this illustrator put out a book of just their drawings I’d so be down to read it. Check out my full review.
Texting Series by Teagan Hunter ★★★★☆ (average)
I was looking for a lighthearted romcom and this series ticked all the boxes! It’s been a while since I’ve laughed so much reading a romance and I loved every minute of it. The titles are pun-tastic and the cheese is strong in pretty much all of the books but the geeky humor, swoon worthy heros and super sassy heroines make for some deliciously fun (not to mention steamy) times! Check out my full series review.

I’m currently reading Kingshold and have been reading this for a few days now but will be finishing it very soon. I’m taking it slowly (much slower than anticipated!) but I’m also enjoying it! It’s jam packed full of enjoyable characters and interesting plot twists and turns and I’m really rooting for the people! Then, in yesterday’s Top Ten Tuesday post I challenged myself to reading TEN CONTEMPORARY ROMANCES this week and was I being serious? Actually, yes? LOL it’s ambitious AF and I should be prioritising my blog tour reads, but I’m really in the mood for some lighthearted romances so I’m attempting to read as many on the list as I can, starting with these four! Yes, I know I’m insane 🤣

The aforementioned romance reading challenge means Wicked As You Wish has dropped back down here but it won’t stay here for long! I actually still have time to read it so I’m not behind schedule and won’t be pushing myself to ridiculous all-nighters reading for the other tours I’m joining. I’m quite proud of myself for being so organised? But I also won’t push my luck 😉

How is your reading week going and what are you currently reading?

❤️❤️❤️Venators ❤️❤️❤️. To Kill a Mocking Girl and Wicked as you Wish both look so good! What great reads on your WWW

My reading week has been very slow, haha. I’ve been binging tv shows.

There was a surprisingly strong romance edge to it until I found out that the author normally writes romance, but it was just so good! Sad there aren’t more by her already 😂

I tend to enjoy the cozies best when they have that touch of romance added in. 🙂

I haven’t read a cozy in a really long time. I love the cover of this one! I’m almost done with Wicked as you Wish. It is a little weird, but I’m still liking it. I hope you enjoy your romances.

Ooh, I’m really keen to see your thoughts on Wicked As You Wish. I’m loving all the details on the cover so much. Also, started reading a few chapters already and just the second chapter alone has made me so nostalgic for Filipino food (used to live there for 8 years) and its made me ravenously hungry 🤣

I started Nils, but I think I’m going to end up DNFing it. I love the illustrations, as you said, but gosh, it’s so hard to follow the story, and now that I put it down … I think I’ll probably have to start over again and hope it makes more sense. xD I might push through, just for the illustrations. Pretty much all of your upcoming reads are on my TBR lol. I guess you’ll get to them before I do, so I’ll know if they’re any good. 😉
Here’s my WWW post.
