Top 5 Saturday: Unread Books by Favourite Authors

I’m back this week for another Top 5 Saturday, a weekly meme created by Mandy @ Devouring Books. This week’s topic is: books by favourite authors, but as it’s a Top 5 Saturday and I usually focus on books that are on my TBR or books that I haven’t read yet, I’ve turned it into unread books by my favourite authors. Narrowing down this list was surprisingly tough because I really suck at picking favourites and there are just so many, how do I pick only five?! Even with my favourite authors there are still plenty of books that I need to read because really, will there ever be enough time? In no particular order…

I’ve admittedly only read The Shadow of the Wind but I was so blown away by it that ZafΓ³n was quickly added to my favourite authors list. If you haven’t read it, I’d highly recommend it! πŸ–€ The Angel’s Game is the second book in The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series and I’ve shamefully had it sitting unread on my shelf for TOO LONG!

I’ve said it countless times already but Neil Gaiman is an absolute favourite. His books can be really weird and they’re definitely not everyone’s cuppa but ever since reading Neverwhere I’ve been on a mission to read all his books, of which there are plenty. Coraline is one that I’m really looking forward to trying this year!

This list wouldn’t be complete without the mention of TJR. I read four of her books last year and they all left me emotionally wrecked in the best way! She’s obviously a new favourite and there are plenty of her books that I can’t wait to read. I think the next one I’ll tackle is One True Loves, which I’ve heard really good things about!

Again, I’ve only read the Mistborn trilogy but Sanderson’s world building and storytelling so completely wowed me that he automatically became a favourite author. I honestly don’t know why I haven’t read more of his books by now but it’s all happening this year! I’m really keen to *finally* read Skyward this year!

Mariana Zapata quickly climbed to the top of my favourite romance authors when I discovered her last year. I was never a fan of the very slow burns until I read her books and now I can’t get enough! I binged quite a few of her books already but I still have more to go! I think next up I’ll read From Lukov with Love.

Do you immediately read all the books by your favourite authors?
Or do you, like me, still have plenty of their books to read?!

    • Oh yay, I’m glad to hear you say that! I’m excited to read more Zapata. It’s hard to believe all her novels are so long because I speed through them so quickly! I think my favourites are still Under Locke and Wall of Winnipeg πŸ’œ
