Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp [333]

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed with A Fire Endless by Rebecca Ross. It’s the second book in her Elements of Cadence duology, and I’m excited to dive back in as Chris and I continue this buddy read! I have a feeling this finale is going to be fairly angsty and painful, lol. 🫣

What book do you have in bed with you this Sunday?

First Lines Friday: 10 July 2026

Happy Friday, book pandas! I’ve decided to start posting for First Lines Friday again since I now have more free Fridays. I can’t believe the last time that I did this Friday meme was back in 2021—time sure does fly. 🤭 On that note, I’m going to dive straight in.

Happy Friday book lovers! We’re back with another First Lines Friday, a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines? Here are the rules:

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

First lines:

“Once upon a time when the world was young there was a Martian named Smith. Valentine Michael Smith was as real as taxes but he was a race of one.”

Do you recognize the book these first lines come from?

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed reading How to Fake It in Society by KJ Charles. This is one of the books that kept my attention (@47%) and even though it’s a bit slow-going, I find it sweet and entertaining. I feel like Titus is a much softer MC and Nico a bit more cynical/jaded than I’m used to seeing in her books, but I’m enjoying their dynamic a lot.

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday night in bed with The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst. I’m buddy reading this with Charlotte and so far, both of us are enjoying more than the first book. The FMC is much less frustrating with her endless list of questions and inner monologue. 🤭
