We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Cover Freebie (Pick any topic related to book covers. You can make up your own topic or pick one from the list of previous ones!)
I was planning on going rogue today because I couldn’t think of any ideas, but then I remembered how I recently did a trending bookstagram post featuring my pantone birth chart palette. So I thought, why not bring it to my blog as well since it’s a low-effort kind of day, and we know that I’m not prepared ahead of time, lol. 😅 Here’s what my pantone birth chart palette looks like and in today’s list, you’ll find covers that match my pantone palette! These books are a mix of *read and TBR.

I actually love the colour combo, even if it doesn’t inclue my favourite colour (lol), and I think they have a very calming effect! What do you think? 🤭

Cursed Daughters by Oyinkan Braithwaite
Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell
*A Song for You and I by K. O’Neill
Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy
*The Voyage of the Basilisk by Marie Brennan
*Sheets by Brenna Thummler

Morbidly Yours by Ivy Fairbanks
*Dragonfruit by Makiia Lucier
*Lightfall by Tim Probert
The Vanishing Cherry Blossom Bookshop by Takuya Asakura
*A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna
*Lunar Boy by Jes & Cin Wibowo

Have you heard about this bookstagram trend before? Have you read any of these books or are some of them also still on your TBR?

I really love the palette! I’ll need to see if I can look up my own. 😀

What a creative spin on the cover freebie — matching covers to your Pantone birth-chart palette is such a fun idea, and you’re right that the combo has a calming effect. Someone You Can Build a Nest In and A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping are both on my TBR, so seeing them here is a nudge to finally get to them. I leaned into covers that honestly match their story for my list this week over at Lesbian Romance Reads (lesbianromancereads.com) — loved seeing such a different take on the theme!

Thank you! For a minute I thought that it wouldn’t count but then I saw some past “colour on the cover” TTT prompts and I thought, well, this is perfect (especially since I already did it on bookstagram the other day)! 🤭 Love the topic that you’ve chosen to go with though—I love when covers match the story so well and, in fact, I find it quite frustrating when the cover mismatches the story a lot, lol.

I love this little trend, and it’s such a fun and low effort kind of vibe. Your palette is super pretty!

It’s a fun trend! I always see these fun ones on bookstagram but never get around to doing it (mostly because I always overthink and by the time I’m done agonizing the trend has passed, haha) but I’m glad I got to this one. I’m quite happy with my palette 😊

I love how creative you got! Also love that you’ve got strong Taurus and Cancer energies in your chart, I knew there was a reason why I like you!😂 I’m a Libra Sun and Virgo Moon!

Haha, yeah, my energies are very “balanced” I guess you could say. I’m very predictable which some people may call boring, but I just call dependable, haha. 🤣 I love finding compatible/vibing energies! 💜

That is a lovely colour combination, they’re all very dusky colours which feels nice for summer. I really love that specific edition’s cover for Someone You Can Build A Nest In. The Lady Trent books work so well for this colour palette!!
I really want to read Sheets, Lightfall, and Morbidly Yours. These covers all look so nice together! I have not heard about that bookstagram trend before but I’ve kind of been away so I’m sure I’ve missed out a on bunch of new trends.

Thanks, Veros! Honestly, there are probably tons of booksta trends that I miss as well, but I’m always very slow on the uptake with these. By the time I’m done overthinking my participation, the trend has already passed, haha. This was fun though! I hope you enjoy Sheets & Lightfall. Sheets (the series of books) was surprisingly emotional!

aha yeah there are so many trends that I also have no idea about so I feel this haha. But oh well if you want to participate it doesn’t matter if it’s passed or not coz it’s just for fun :). Aw thank you okay I’ll be prepared for tears maybe then!

I love the colour combination! It’s a fun topic to do too, and you have some great covers here 🙂 I especially love the cover for A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping, it’s so pretty!

Did you see that there’s a new cover for Witch’s Guide? I saw it on Kindle the other day and I was like omg, it’s actually so cute too (and almost makes me want to get it but nooo, I must stop) 🤭

Your Pantone chart was cuter than mine. I did it and the colours are….not pretty haha.

Oh nooo, really!? I’m sorry to hear that (you’ve also got me very curious about your colours now, haha). I was worried mine would end up being very clashing or unpretty colours too, so I was pleased with how they ended up being. Otherwise I probably would’ve skipped the trend 🤣

I had never heard of this, so checked it out. My colours were okay. I did read Sheets awhile ago, but that is the only one.

Were they good okay? Did you enjoy Sheets?

Yes, they were good okay. The problem was I don’t know exactly what time I was born, so I guessed. Sheets was fun. I read it quite awhile ago.

What a fun and unique topic! I *just* recently had something about the Pantone Birth Chart colour palette pop up for me on instagram – I’d never heard of it before!

I guess this shows how differently the algorithm presents for people on bookstagram! I felt like I was seeing it everywhere for a while (like a couple of weeks at least). It’s always fun seeing other people’s palette’s too 🙂

Love this! I did my birthday chart and was a bit disappointed with the colours 😂 well the grey anyway 😂
Great cover choices to go with them!
Have a great week!

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that! Someone else commented the same, and another person said their colours were “okay” (hopefully more positively than “meh”). I guess I got lucky (and I’m usually not with these things 😅)…

Same. Grey is hardly a nice colour 😂
Haha I usually am ok with those sorts of things. Sometimes it can be a bit meh.

Oooh what a fun idea! I just tried to look up my chart but I don’t know what time I was born 😂 I wonder how much it changes if I just guess? I love your book choices they definitely vibe with the colors ❤

Hmm, I’m not sure actually, but it might (i’m not massively into astro stuff)? you could always guestimate if you have a rough idea? Otherwise I would try two different times otherwise (like, morning or arvo and evening) 🤣
