Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week, I finished one book! Things are just too hectic for me at the moment and while I am reading, I’m just not reading very quickly. ๐คญ

Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy

I’m still not entirely sure what I want to rate this. The ending had me feeling an absolute wreck and my ugly crying has me leaning towards a 4.75. I personally didn’t find anything particularly unlikeable about this storyโthere were silly miscommunication bits, but it’s a mystery, people will be hiding things from each other. This was definitely a very slow burn and build up with a big character focus, but also environmental/atmospheric focus. I loved how, in a way, this was a love letter to mother nature and the power she holds. Humans love to destroy and change things, but in the end, nature will always win. It was so beautifully atmospheric McConaghy did a fantastic job bringing the island to life.

Once Upon A River by Diane Setterfield, The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne, The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst
- Once Upon a River โข 38% โข This is a pretty slow-moving story with lots of pieces moving around each other that are taking their time in coming together. It’s interesting though! Sometimes the writing reads very lyrical, but then I read it again and it’s very straight forward and has a somewhat wry quality to it. I can’t put my finger on it, but I like it.
- The Shadow of the Gods โข 15% โข Started this buddy read with Becky yesterday! I’m excited and nervous about it because this series is so hyped. It’s set in a nordic-inspired fantasy world, so it’s already pretty brutal. For me, it’s kind of like watching the Vikings series but in book form + fantasy. ๐ I get the feeling it’s gonna be a big cast of characters, but with three main povs (so far). I’m keen to see where things go! Something tells me it’s gonna be hectic, messy, frustrating, and heartbreaking, lol.
- The Enchanted Greenhouse โข 0% โข I’m starting this buddy read with Charlotte today, but I haven’t started yet. I’ll be picking it up as my bedtime read right after this post goes live so I’ll hopefully get at least a few chapters read, lol.

Some buddy reads are coming up that I’m really excited about but let’s see where my mood takes me!

What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!

Your current reads are definitely a real contrast this week. I enjoyed all three of them so hope that you do too. The Enchanted Greenhouse will give you a chance to get over the drama of the John Gwynn๐
