We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent your time reading in bed or wish you had time to read today.

I’ll be spending the rest of my Sunday in bed with Lies We Sing to the Sea. I’m about 44% through and ngl, I’m not feeling a whole lot of ways about the characters or plot. 😅 I guess on the plus side is that the chapters are short, so we’re moving at a decent clip. The bad thing is though that despite being this far into the book, nothing of significance has really happened… I hope that changes soon!
What book do you have in bed with you this Sunday?

Well, we got news at the office and it wasn’t great. TL;DR is basically that the entire office could be out of a job by the end of May so… That’s fun. 🙃 I feel quite… Conflicted about it. I have a love/”hate” relationship with my work. I don’t feel that it’s the best fit for me but the team works so hard and they are so passionate about what we do. Plus, it’s money and job security. Now, we have to go through the whole job hunting process again and we all know how exhausting that is… It’s probably even more so now in this economy. It’s a scary time, I think, to be in this position and even knowing I’m not alone in it doesn’t make it any easier. It’s hard to be positive or to hold out hope for something good to happen when the development landscape has changed so much (especially in the past year), and you’re competing with everyone for funding. It doesn’t matter as much how well known your brand or work is when everyone seems to be struggling! 😮💨
On a more positive note, I received some beautiful things from people in the past week. By that I mean, we had another colleague’s farewell and as a thank you for the friendship and the books I’ve shared with them over the past year, they gave me really cute stickers + gift cards for the bookstore! 🥰 I also received a package from Japan from my sister who sent me early birthday gifts. I got some Animal Crossing goodies, a panda passport holder, and some cute stickies and amazing erasable pens for annotating! I’m so thankful. 💜

My head space has not been great for reading and gaming has still been taking up a lot of my time because not only am I still having lots of fun with it, it’s the mindless kind of fun that seems to be working best for decompressing daily. There might be a mini-hiatus announcement coming (as soon as tomorrow!) as with all the changes, I might not be around as often for the coming month… But let’s see!
