#TopTenTuesday: Book Titles for My Life

We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is: Book Titles That Describe Me/My Life (Example titles: Well Traveled could describe you if you like to travel, Hotshot Doc could describe you if you’re an awesome doctor, Falling into Place could describe a life where things are starting to work out, An Infinite Love Story could describe your relationship, It Could Have Been Her could describe a thing you’re happy you avoided or a path you could have taken but didn’t. You can explain your choices or not, and they can be as specific or as abstract as you’d like.) (Submitted by Susan @ blogginboutbooks.com)

I was thinking of going rogue today because I felt this would’ve required more brain cells than I have spare at the minute, but then I decided that this happens to often, and I should at least give it a proper go. This is such a great topic suggestion and I’m super excited to see what others choose for their lists today! Thanks for the topic suggestion, Susan 😍

Honey & Spice

I think I can be pretty sweet (like honey!) a lot of the time, but if you mess with me or my people, it will definitely bring the spice out in me! 🤣

Old Soul

I’ve often been told that I’ve got an old soul and mostly for my maturity. I don’t know if that’s always the case but I feel it’s often true.

Too Old For This

I know that in terms of age I’m definitely not too old for this (life), but that’s what my body screams at me every moment I’m awake, lol. 😂

Buried in a Good Book

I’m pretty sure almost everyone in the book-o-sphere can relate to this, but I strive to be buried in a good book, always!

Outlander

This is often how I feel as an Indonesian who grew up as a third culture kid, and moved back to Indonesia as an adult. It’s hard, especially because I’m not exactly fluent in my ‘mother tongue’, so I’m treated like a foreigner by locals and like a local by foreigners. And yet, I’m also an ‘outlander’ in all the places I’ve ever lived, too. 🤭

Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come

As a socially anxious mega introvert, I am often late to things because I don’t want to go, lol. I.e. I would’ve much rather stayed at home but I know I needed to step out of my cave just once to prove to the world that I’m alive. 😅

If It Makes You Happy

I can’t lie, I am a bit of people pleaser, so if it makes you happy, I’ll do it. However, I also love making people happy, whether you’re one of my people, a colleague, a friend or acquaintance. I love being able to do things for others that I know will make them happy!

A Theory of Dreaming

For the past 5-6 years now, I’ve had massive trouble sleeping. I’m often up in the late hours until 6-7am and I struggle through every day with about 3-4 hours of sleep—I know it’s bad. That’s why I thought this title was appropriate because I only about dreams in theory now, lol.

Anxious People

I’m quite an anxious person. I’m always constantly overthinking, over worrying, and twisting myself up in knots, even if I may look completely relaxed, lol. I’ve found that as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become increasingly anxious and I truly wish anxiety would leave me alone, but I wonder what I’d even do with myself if I didn’t feel it, lol.

Here For A Good Time

You know, life and the world around is already chaotic enough. As this year has thoroughly demonstrated (though you can say the same for the past couple of years), you can go to sleep knowing peace and yet wake up to an absolute shit storm of epic proportions. 🫠 You never know what’s coming, so I want to enjoy this life as much as I can, and that’s why I’m just here for a good time!

Oh, this was so much fun! I’m so glad I didn’t go rogue. 😊 Do you see yourself/your life described in any of these book titles, too?

  1. I really am enjoying this prompt because I am learning about other bloggers who I visit every week but know little about. For example I knew you lived in Indonesia but I didn’t know you had gone and returned so feel like an outsider. How frustrating is that?

  2. Buried in a Good Book is a good one 😂 I was on the verge of picking Fangirl for this TTT but thought it’d be too obvious 😅 I absolutely love your choice of “Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come”, it’s the perfect amount of sassy and self-deprecating humor 😎

  3. I really liked Anxious People, but I also (unfortunately) feel the same way. I think I’ve gotten more anxious as I’ve gotten older rather than less.

  4. Great choices and reasons, Dini. I didn’t know you had returned to Indonesia as an adult, I just assumed you lived there all your life. I agree, I’m here for a good time as well.

  5. I had the SAME thoughts!! I started my alphabet list and then thought this was too fun. I didn’t have time to finish last night so had to delay my post for later this morning. It was such a fun one though! Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come <— one hundred percent me!! haha.
