I’ll spend the rest of my Sunday in bed reading Voidwalker by S. A. MacLean. This is a buddy read with Chris and it’s a first-time read for me and a re-read for him. Illumicrate is coming out with an SE for the sequel soon, so I wanted to read the first before deciding whether to get the second. I’m about world-building still trips me up at times and I have some mixed thoughts about the FMC, but overall, I’m really enjoying it. Things went sideways very quickly and have continued to get worse for our MCs, so I’m keen to see where it goes! 😂
What book do you have in bed with you this Sunday?
Not much happened this week. I was meant to renew my passport on Thursday but due to an error/misunderstanding on my part, my appointment was cancelled and I didn’t find out until I got there because I thought everything was sorted beforehand. Silly me and a very good lesson learned to not be so lackadaisical when it comes to important things like this. I would’ve been royally screwed for my birthday trip in May but thankfully, I was able to apply for the express option (and also paid double!) that gets the passport done in a day, and I’ve booked (and confirmed!) an appointment for next Friday. 😮💨
I’ve been feeling rather stressed, emotionally overwhelmed, frazzled, and somewhat restless recently so I decided on a whim to purchase a colouring book. I forced myself to take a break from gaming and I started colouring last night while watching/listening to a lot of YouTube, specifically: Cold Trace — True Crime Stories, Dish Podcast, and a dive into Cormac McCarthy’s ‘secret’. Here are the two scenes that I finished (not sure why I made that umbrella green) and the blank ones are what I’m eyeing to do next but I’m not sure which to do. Which would you choose to colour?

The coloring book looks super cute! I’ve seen a lot of similar ones circulating on TikTok and I was considering buying it for the exact same purpose – to let my eyes rest a bit 😅 Do tell if it works or not! P.S. I’d color the bedroom because it looks more spring-y than the Ice Cream shop 😄

I hate whenever I have to make appointments for things like passport renewal, because you wait so long for them. Sorry about that missunderstaing, but luckily your trip next month won’t be affected since you got that other appointment.
I have been meaning to get back into coloring books as well, since they help me relax, but all the ones I have are more about mossaics and similar things, which I’ve come to find out I do not like, for I am terrible at deciding what colors to chose. One like yours, which is so cute, is better because I do not need to think that much about what color to get!
Since you put the ice cream parlor first, start with that one and then the bedroom, so you can have both! I will check out the videos you’ve shared, because I want to get into true crime, so those might help.
