I’ve spent much of my Sunday in bed reading an ARC of The Wicked Sea by Jordan Stephanie Gray. It’s been a while since I’ve willingly picked up an adult romantasy because a lot of them feel very copy-paste these days. While I can’t say that this anything new or different—and I was honestly a bit worried after reading the prologue—I’ve enjoyed it more as I’ve read on. The character dynamic really gives Quicksilver and Phantasma, while the plot tries to fit in a lot more which does and doesn’t work. Sometimes the decisions or (lack of) logic makes me a bit mad, but I’m surprisingly enjoying it overall? 🤣

The long-weekend couldn’t have come fast enough but at the same time, couldn’t possibly have gone faster because how is it already Sunday evening now? 🤣 This week has passed in a blur of mostly gaming with a sprinkling of reading—Disney Dreamlight Valley has really taken over my life. As quickly as I became obsessed with Heartopia last week, that was a short-lived love as I learned this week that it not only uses AI, but it’s also super racist. 👎🏽 Boo! The upside is it’s one less game to distract me from reading! In other news, there really wasn’t much else going on. During lunch breaks at work we’ve started talking about the impact the war is having here and how there’s so much uncertainty and fear of what rising prices and fuel shortages means for the masses. The government’s silence and denial echo so loudly.
My current read is actually due for a blog tour review tomorrow and I totally hecked up the timings thanks to being so absorbed in gaming, but it’s fine because we’re almost done with it now! 😅 I really need to get better organised (or just calm down with the gaming a bit, lol)!

I just googled Heartopia. That was unfortunate, but I suppose that’s what can happen when AI and not people create things?? I hope your book is going well and you get that review in for tomorrow.

Yep, pretty disappointing about the game but at this point am I even surprised? Not really. More disappointed, for sure!

I’m sorry your country’s government has nothing to say about what’s going on with the fuel stuff. I’ve been seeing in the news what other countries are having to do…so frustrating because this didn’t need to happen. 🤦♀️ Anyway, this Sunday I’ve started back up my TOG journey with Queen of Shadows…didn’t realize it’s about 650 pages so that’ll take me a while 😆

They’re just placating people and saying “everything’s fine, everything’s fine” but like, people aren’t as dumb as they like to believe 🙂 I hate that they’re keeping people poised on this knife edge, not knowing when we’re gonna fall. I couldn’t agree more—this didn’t need to happen. 🙃 Oof, I’ve been meaning to re-read the ToG series because I just have the final book to read to officially finish the series but at this point remember absolutely nothing, but I also get so lazy… I hope you enjoy the chonkiness!
