I’ve got two books on at the minute and both are buddy reads but I think I’ll spend the rest of my Sunday (after gaming!) in bed reading A Drop of Corruption, which is my buddy read with Charlotte and she is way ahead of me! It’s getting even more intriguing now though and I’m curious to see what happens next. I love these characters, especially Din and Ana—the banter is fantastic and often has me cackling out loud! 🤭
What book do you have in bed with you this Sunday?
It’s been an incredibly quiet week at work as most everyone is still on Eid holiday, so I was one of three in the office all week! It was weird at first, but the closer we got to the end of the week and as things started returning to normal around the city, the more we realised how nice the peace and quiet was both in and out of work. I know we’ll definitely miss our extended lunch sessions! 🤣 At least next week is shorter by a day thanks to the Easter holiday so it’s another long weekend for us—yay! 🎉
I’ve been gaming a whole lot this week. I started playing Disney Dreamlight Valley (again) close to three weeks ago now and I’m still obsessed. Sad to be playing it only at night and only for 1-2 hours a day because I have other things to do (even though I obvi wanna play longer each day). 🥲 Despite the horrendous lag and frame drops and editing capabilities on the Switch, I’m enjoying the game a lot more now than when I played it when it first came out! I’m doing a lot more layout editing and designing areas, which is super fun.
There’s also a game that was introduced to me on mobile called Heartopia. It’s available on PC too and you can play it on iPad etc., but I can’t find my iPad (lolz, welp, trying not to panic) so I started playing on my mobile. I can’t say that I’m too wild about the game play on mobile, but I’ve been enjoying the daily tasks and just trying to figure out how it all works, lol. It’s a pretty adorable chibi core game.
As a result of gaming so much, I’ve not really been reading or blogging as much as I want to. 🥲 It do be like that sometimes though… I’m still enjoying my buddy reads though and I’m not *terribly* behind thanks to the weekend, but I’m definitely not speeding through any reads right now, lol.

I’ve never been a gamer, even when my kids were young and they wanted me to play with them. My grandkids ask all the time, but it’s just not my thing, although I know that my son plays all the time. How nice that you had an easy week. I hope this week wasn’t much of a culture shock, Dini. Enjoy the long weekend.

Fair enough! Gaming isn’t for everyone 🙂 A lot of my mum’s friends also play games like Animal Crossing and they always try to get her to play too but she’s like yeah, nah. Im sorry for racing ahead on our buddy read 🙈 I knew the weekend was going to be busy for me and was scared I’d fall behind. And even then I meant to stop sooner than I did but that court based section had me hooked 🙈
I totally relate to how gaming can take over. You’re majorly tempting me to start playing Dreamlight again as I miss it. I’ll try to hold off for a week or two but I’ll definitely start playing again soon. Games have such a strong tendency to take over 😂
