We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is a: Book Titles Featuring Ordinal Numbers (Ordinal numbers are numbers that define an item’s place in a series. For example: first, second, third, fourth, tenth, fourteenth, thirty-third, one hundredth, etc.) (submitted by Joanne @ Portobello Book Blog)
I liked today’s topic—it was fun without being too difficult and I don’t recall having done this topic before. I think one of my reading challenges last year (or the year before) did have this as a prompt but I can’t remember which or what I read for it! 🤭 I wanted to see if I could find books that hit all numbers from 1-10 but I don’t know if I’ll be able to do that. If not, I’ll continue going up the scale until I get ten titles. All but three are from my TBR (the ones I’ve read are marked with the ♡). Let’s see how it goes!

At First Spite by Olivia Dade
That Second Chance by Meghan Quinn ♡
The Third Daughter by Adrienne Tooley ♡
Grief in the Fourth Dimension by Jennifer Yu
The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin

The Seventh Veil of Salome by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult ♡
Twelfth Knight by Alexene Farol Follmuth
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

I clearly ran into trouble with sixth, eighth and eleventh but I’m kind of surprised that I managed to find so many options from my shelves for books featuring ordinal numbers! Have you read any of these or are they on your TBR?

The Fifth Season was also on my list!

It was a really popular pick last week!

Oh, I like how you did this Dini organized by ascending numbers is very satisfying! 🙂 I want to read The Fifth Season, The Thirteenth Tale , and Gideon The Ninth. Twelfth Knight sounds fun too, reminds me of that Disney Channel movie, Avalon High. lol. Here’s my TTT.

Hehe, thanks Veros! I wanted to leave my options as wide as possible 😂 I’m looking forward to reading all of these and I hope you enjoy them too whenever you get around to them 🙂 Happy reading!

GREAT JOB!! You even did it in order. This reminds me that I need to continue Fifth Season! Every year, I tell myself that I’ll read, Gideon the Ninth. I never do and I MUST this year!! haha.

Thanks, friend! I was chuffed that I managed to get these in order 😍 Also… I’m down for more buddy reads if you’re up for it! But I’m also reading a lot slower these days, so I don’t wanna hold you back, haha.

I have been much slower these days too. I’ll DM you and we can set one up. It’s been too long!

I think ordinal numbers is part of the Buzzwords challenge from Books and Lala for this year. But I could be wrong. LOL! Great job!

You’re so right!!!! I realised this after I posted and went to fill in the prompt for my March read! I guess I have prepared myself well for next month and have lots of ready options to choose from 😜

Love that I am seeing The Seventh Veil of Salome on so many lists. It was one of my favorite reads last year. Great job on this!

It was a popular one last week! I haven’t seen a lot of people talk about it though, so I’m excited to hear it was one of your favourites last year! I can’t wait to check it out 😃

Ive read none but three of these (Fifth, Seventh & Thirteenth) I’m majorly hoping to pick up this year. What did you think of The Third Daughter? For a moment I thought I could remember you disliking it, then I realised that was Sweet & Bitter Magic by the author. Gideon The Ninth is also on my priority list and technically I’m meant to catch up before the next ones out…I’m kind of doubting it’ll happen given my crazy TBR though. Well done on getting to so many of the numbers 🥰

Ngl, I can’t remember all too well, but I don’t think I enjoyed it as much as the first in the duology. I think it was a satisfying ending though? Sorry! Haha, my memory is so bad. I have read other books by this author before and Sweet & Bitter Magic was one of them, but you’re right, I didn’t enjoy that one at all! 🫣 I think my favourite of hers is Sofi and the Bone Song!
Gideon the Ninth has been on my TBR for what feels like ages now. I mean, it has been ages, but I keep saying I’ll read it and just never get around to it. If you wanna do a buddy read lmk, I’d be happy to get it ticked off my TBR too, but no pressure if not! 😂

Ah its always a shame when the second book in a duology isn’t as strong as the first. Ooh I remember being intrigued by Sofi & The Bone Song. Although the one on my physical TBR is the one you disliked 😬
Sure we can do one sometime if you want. Although I think I’d like to get to Drop Of Corruption and Blood Over Bright Haven first if possible. It would be great to catch up on this series too before the next one releases though 😅

I loved the Thirteenth Tale back when I read it. You did very well. I was going to go this route, but wanted to use books I’d already read, and there were lots I hadn’t yet, so I went with all books that have “First” in the title.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, Carla! I’m still looking forward to giving it a go 🙂

Haha, you’re not alone! I’m quite sure that I only found out earlier this year because it’s a prompt for one of the reading challenges I’m doing 🤭

You did good with this topic! My mind blanked so I went with numbers and now that I look at all the lists I’m like oh yeahhhh I could have used that title! lol

I think I only found this one easy because it’s a prompt for one of the challenges I’m doing this year so I knew that I already had at least a few options 🤭

I also hit all the numbers, and I thought this was such a fun prompt😁 And we both chose The Seventh Veil of Salome!

Great choices… and I ended up skipping 6th and 8th too! I still need to read The Fifth Season, and I’ve read your “9th” and “10th” books!

It was surprisingly tough to find the 6th and 8th number! I hope you enjoy Fifth Season if/when you get to it 🙂

I am so impressed with all the different ordinals you were able to find. I seem to mostly read First and Second books. I loved that Quinn series.

Ngl, Sam, I impressed myself too because I didn’t expect that I’d be able to find so many (and in order-ish too)! 🤭 I loved the Quinn series (still my favourite)!

You found ten different numbers, that is more than most of us can say. I forgot to includ The Thirteenth Tale in mine but even that would not have made a difference. Loved your list.
This is mine.

You can be very proud of that. I think yours is the only one where all the numbers were different. At least of those that I saw.
